for support Attorney Walter Plumley represents the plaintiff Because Pullman porters no longer join the Pullman Porters Relief Association and there Is no prospect that they will join it is explained the organisation Incorporated seven years ago under the laws of the District yesterday filed suit for dissolution Starting with 50 members the membership has now dwindled to 12 the court is told and District Affairs William Knox 52 years old for many years and until recently president of the Knox Express Company and one of the most widely known business men of Washington died suddenly at Atlantic City Sunday morning He had been in falling health for six years but was on the point of visiting his mother In Maine when he was stricken His wife was with him when he died Mr Knox had been In business In this city for years and was always an active and xealous worker for the Interests of the District He was the son of the founder of the company of which he later became president He was born In Vermont and was brought to Washington by his parents when an Infant His education was received In tn public schools of this city and Swarthmore College Entering his fathers company In 1881 he became manager In 1892 and In 1S94 upon the death of his father he became president and general manager Upon retirement from this business he became associated with Dean Caldwell in the general insurance business In the Woodward building His civic activities were many He was the organizer and first president of the Business Mens Association of this city and a director of the Metropolitan Citizens Bank He was also a member of the Board of Trade He also was Identified with many fraternal and social organizations being a past master of Federal Lodge No 1 A A Columbia Chapter Washington Commandery and Almas Temple of the Mystic Shrine He belonged to the Society of Colonial Wars of the University Club of Washington and the Sons of the American Revolution Mr Knox is survived by his wife who was Miss Cora Hamilton of this city a daughter Mrs Burry of Tennessee and a son William Knox jr Funeral services will be held today at 230 oclock at the family residence The Rev Ernest Smith pastor of St Thomas Episcopal Church la to officiate Interment is to be in Glenwood Cemetery where the rites will be conducted by members of the Masonic orders and by the Knights Templar The honorary Washington and Old Dominion Railway reached the stage yesterday afternoon which carried them Into the District Supreme Court by the filing of a bill by the railway company against 155 former employes asking that an Injunction be Issued restraining the defendants from Interfering in any manner whatsoever with the operation of the cars or with the carrying of malls by the company In the petition which was filed by Attorneys Wilton Lambert and Yeatman and covering fourteen typewritten pages the history of the difficulties between the company and the strikers Is set forth culminating In ihe agreement for arbitration which the company claims to have been violated by the calling of the strike on the 12th day tf May Charges Against the Men It Is claimed that the former employes have combined together and defied not only the American Federation of Labor with whom they are affiliated as Local Division 699 of the Amalgamated Association of Street and Electric Railway Employes of America but have caused serious damage to the property of the company and interfered with the operation of Its cars as well as to at i tempt to prevent the company from placing men in control or their cars ana operating the line thereby It is claim ed interfering not only with Interstate commerce but with the carrying of the United States malls Issued by Justice McCoy Upon presentation of the petition to Justice McCoy In the Equity Division yesterday afternoon the court signed an injunction order consisting of five typewritten pages in which the de fendants were enjoined and restrained from in any manner hindering inter fering with or obstructing or stopping any of the business of the Washington and Old Dominion Railway as common carrier of passengers and freight from the District of Columbia to Virginia and from In any way or manner Inter fering with hindering obstructing or stopping any mail trains express trains or other trains whether freight or passenger engaged in Interstate commerce or carrying passengers or freight in the District of Columbia through to Virginia and in the counties of Alexandria Loudoun and Fairfax The defendants are further enjoined from inducing or attempting to compel by intimidating by force or violence any of the employes of the railway company engaged in the business of ODeratinsr its trains to leave the serv I ice of the plaintiff or from aiding or abetting any one to commit any one of the acts referred to The injunction Is to remain in full force and effect until May 25 at which time a hearing may be bad by the de fendants upon the question of contln ulng it in force The writ of injunction was Immediately placed In the hands of the United States marshal for the District of Co lumbia for service The railway com pany gaveorders to have copies posted In the vicinity of their terminals Like action also was taken by Judge Thornton In Fairfax Va yesterday Order Revokes Charter An order revoking the charter of the local union issued by the Amalgamated Association Street and Electric Rail way Employes of America has been sent to Mahon International president of the association by Rexln Orr International treasurer who has been here trying to settle the differences If Mr Mahon acts favorably upon the order the charter will be sue pended until September when the local union will be given an opportunity to explain Its position The railway was still tied up yesterday Members of the union say that they have received no notice of a revocation of their charter but admit that it has been suspended Mr Orr said When the employes refused to go to work on Saturday In accordance with the order of Mr Mahon they automati cally se elation Last Word by the Company Colin Livingstone president of the Washington and Old Dominion Railway said yesterday that there were no negotiations yesterday between the employes and the company and none was contemplated He stated that the company said its last word in the Columbus received a check for a handsome sum of money as an appreciation of his hard work In preparing the details of the trip Admiral Andrews Address The presentation addresses were made by Rosenberg general counsel of the association Mr Lansburgh presented every member with a white carnation at breakfast on mothers day Andrews admiral of the fleet and1 president of the association gave a short address from the steps of St Marys Hotel Leonardtown Md the largest town visited during the trip George Wainwrlght gave a humorous recital and Judge Harris Camalier of the Seventh Judicial district of other boys Orange and lavender tags and pennants will be sold at 10 25 and 50 cents respectively The pennants are for houses and automobiles It is requested by the Boy Scout headquarters that the scoutmasters urge each boy In his troop to take letters which have been Issued by headquarters giving the reason for tag day and show them to at least six people in the neighborhood This will helrj a
