Barbara Harris Bark- er went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 7, 2008, after succumbing to a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m.

Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Shirley Hills Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Barbara was born Jan. 24, 1932, in Staunton, to the late Henry Dell Harris and Elizabeth Gorman Harris and had lived in Warner Robins for 43 years. She was a retired church secretary of Shirley Hills Baptist Church in Warner Robins and an active member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church.

She enjoyed her hobby of playing in several local Bridge clubs and took great pleasure in her two cats. Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hugh B. Barker Jr. of Flomaton, Ala. She is survived by her children, Hugh B.

(Mike and Sharon) Barker III of Chesapeake, Robert S. (Bobby and Cathy) Barker of Byron and Dell Barker South of Mount Kisco, N.Y., and her grandchildren, Robert "Bob" A. Barker of Arlington, and Stewart P. and Amy C. Barker of Byron.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the building fund of Shirley Hills Baptist Church, 615 Corder Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088 or to a charity of choice. The family may be contacted at 112 Oakdale Drive in Warner Robins. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Hazel H. Cohron RAPHINE Hazel Henkel Cohron, 93, formerly of Stuarts Draft, passed away at 8:28 a.m.

Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville. Mrs. Cohron was a resident of Blue Ridge Christian Home of Raphine. Born Jan. 10, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Homer Lee Sr.

and Edith I. (Mitchell) Henkel. She was a former employee of DuPont of Waynesboro and Stuarts Draft Elementary School. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Stuarts Draft, and she served on the auxiliary of Stuarts Draft Volunteer Fire In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Cohron, three brothers and one sister. Survivors include a son, Richard Cohron and his fiance, Sheila Moneymaker of Stuarts Draft, and two brothers, Walton and Charles Henkel, both of Stuarts Draft.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2008, at Calvary United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Judson Baldwin and Kristin Holbrook officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. this evening at the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.

Clark Smith, 67, of 188 Hewitt Road departed this life July 9, 2008, at of Waynesboro.

He was born Aug. 11, 1940, in Staunton, the son of the late David and Julia (Carter) Smith. He was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and served in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by one son, Eugene C. Smith, Jr. one brother, Warren C. Smith; one sister, Joyce Bell and husband, Richard; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m.

died Thursday, July 10, 2008, at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville. She was born Oct. 23, 1937, in Augusta County, the daughter of the late Mitchell Oliver and Flossie Lee (Davis) Zimbro. She was married to the late Herbert Walter Cale, who preceded her in death April 11, 1993. She is survived by a son, James "Jim" Cale and wife, Faith, of Staunton; a sister, Joyce Clifton of Craigsville; two grandchildren, April Smith and husband, Matthew, of Staunton, and Jimmy Cale II and fiance, Kenzie Snow, of Staunton; and two -grandchildren, Chloe and Ruthy Smith of Staunton.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2008, in Community Memorial Cemetery in Craigsville with Pastor Claude Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the cemetery. Dunn STUARTS DRAFT Phyllis Jean Martin Dunn was freed from the confines of her frail earthly body on July 10, 2008, to joyously accept the gift of everlasting life in the arms of the Father. The daughter of Dick S. and Mabel K.

Martin, Phyllis was born Jan. 14, 1937, in Covington. The family later moved to Giles County, where Phyllis attended Giles County schools and graduated as valedictorian of the Class of 1955 of Pearisburg High School. Besides her roles as devoted wife and loving mother, she worked as a teacher's aide in the Giles County school system, in the business office at Giles Memorial Hospital and as the office manager for a Pearisburg physician until illness dictated an early retirement. She was a dedicated Christian and a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg.

In 2000, Phyllis and her husband, Hobart K. "Sonny" Dunn, moved to Stuarts Draft in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia so Phyllis could have closer access to the nursing, medical and therapeutic care she needed. She faithfully attended Calvary United Methodist Church in Stuarts Draft until illness eventually made such outings too difficult. Phyllis leaves behind her loving husband of 54 years, "Sonny," and three daughters and their husbands, Debbie and George Patterson of Christiansburg, Gail and Steve Austin of Pearisburg and Pam and Tim Austin of Stuarts Draft. She also will be sadly missed by grandchildren, David Dufault and his wife, Leslie, Daniel Dufault, Heather Teta and her husband, Brian, and Brad, Kate and Adam Austin; and one great -granddaughter, Victoria Graycen Dufault.

Phyllis also leaves behind one brother and his wife, Richard Martin and Marie, of Salem. Besides her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by an infant sister, Patricia Carol, and one brother, Roger Martin. All who knew Phyllis were constantly amazed by her tireless energy, thirst for knowledge, love of travel, appreciation of God's wonderful creation and capacity for kindness and compassion. She was a role model for all she met, and she left a lasting impression with all who were blessed to have crossed her path. Family visitation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m.

She was born in Augusta County, a daughter of Stephen J. and Myrtle Woodie Craig. She was employed at the General Electric Co. in Waynesboro, Salem and Charlottesville. She retired in 1986 after 32 years of service.

She was a member of Glen Kirk Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her father; her husband, Joseph W. Belak; and a sister, Linda Varga. She is survived by her mother, Myrtle Woodie Craig; two brothers, Stephen E. Craig and Ronnie P.

Craig and his wife, Pamela; a niece, Tiffanie; and nephews, Travis, Aaron and Trevor. A memorial service will 1 be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 20, at Glen Kirk Presbyterian Church by Pastor Scott A. Conrad, after which the family will receive friends. At her request, there will be no visitation or viewing.

She will be entombed at Augusta Memorial Park with her late husband during a private service. Henderson WAYNESBORO Mary Ellen Henderson, 65, of Waynesboro passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville. Born July 23, 1942, in Augusta County, she was a daughter of the late David William and Mary Elizabeth (Benson) Henderson. Mary had attended White Hill Church of the Brethren and had an affinity for traveling, cross-stitching and crocheting, as well as knitting. Mary had retired after 35 years with Genicom as a quality control inspector in the mechanical department. Mary also had supported and attended the Alanon group for many years.

Mary is survived by one daughter, Anita Johnson and her fiance, Gary Nevills, of Staunton; two sons, Johnny Johnson Jr.and his wife, Debi, and Michael Johnson and his wife, Dianna, all of Greenville; one sister, Grace Groah and her husband, Larry, of Waynesboro; one brother, James David Henderson of Stuarts Draft; five grandchildren, Matthew Marks and Sandi, Jennifer, Christina and Samantha Johnson; one greatgranddaughter, Caylie Johnson; two stepgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and two very special feathered babies, Hopper and Bluebell.
