He was born Sept. 26, 1937, at Bath County, to Sam Smith and Beulah Gilispie. He was a construction worker. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne Smith of Covington and Kenneth Smith of Flat Woods, two sisters, Elsie Martin of Fort Collins, Colo, and Nina Baldwin of Hot Springs; and two brothers, Theodore Smith of San Antonio and Carl Smith of Atchison, Kan. Graveside services will be at 11 this morning at Baldwin Woodzell Family Cemetery. was born Dec. 29, 1 947, at Lexington, to William and Emily Bruce Smith. Mrs.

Lowery was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Linda Huffman. Survivors include her husband, Dennis R. Lowery; two daughters, Anita D. Halterman of Waynesboro and Barbara R. Case of Stuarts Draft; two sons, Randy D.

and Scott T. Glass, both of Waynesboro; a brother, Thomas Smith of Winchester; and a sister, Peggy Camden of Lexington. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Reynolds Funeral Home, Stuarts Draft. Burial will be at the Stuarts Draft Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. BeulahG.Chittum, 88 BUENA VISTA Beulah G. Chittum died Sunday (Aug. 1 1 2002 at Stonewall Jackson Hospital, Lexington.

She was born Sept. 26, 1913, at Rockbridge County, to Mallie Chittum and Esta Painter Chittum. Mrs. Chittum was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Chittum; a son, Junior Ray Chittum; a daughter, Judith Delorse Chittum; two brothers; and a sister.

Survivors include Wednesday at Jones Funeral Home. Burial will be at Thorn-rose Cemetery. Visitation and viewing will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Thomas Raisbeck, 56 NATURAL BRIDGE Thomas Henry Raisbeck died Friday (August 9, 2002) at his home. He was born July 16, 1946, at Lynbrook, N.Y., to Henry Thomas and Ethel Abel Raisbeck.

He was the former owner of Quality Quick Print Ink at Lexington. Mr. Raisbeck was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda Raisbeck Nadle. Survivors include his wife, Elberta Mclnnes Raisbeck; two stepsons, Kirk Bumstead of Natural Bridge and Ross Bumstead Christian of Roanoke; and a stepdaughter, the Rev. Heather Bumstead of Racine, Wis.

Memorial services will be at a later date. Reynolds Funeral Home, Waynesboro, is handling arrangements. Darlene M. Lowery, 54 STUARTS DRAFT Darlene Marie Lowery, of 1060 Howardsville Turnpike, died Sunday (August 11, 2002) at Augusta Medical Center. She Simmons of Doe Hill.

Brown, 86 STAUNTON Clarence W. "Hank" Brown, of 106 Highland died Saturday (Aug.10, 2002) at Augusta Medical Center. He was born March 9, 1916, at Burketown, to Duly Crawford and Zypher Brown. He was an employee of Tri-City Pavement for many years. Mr.

Brown was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Mary Bell Hall Brown. Survivors include eight daughters, Brenda Hall and Teresa Brown of Virginia Beach, Deborah Banks of Waynesboro, Patricia Harriston and Donna Brown of Roanoke, and Melody Wilson, Michelle Douglas and Tawanda Brown, all of Staunton; and five sons, Ernest Smith of Bridgewater, James Brown of Virginia Beach, Clarence Hall of Roanoke, William Hall of Raleigh, N.C. and Ronnie Darcus of Harrisonburg. Services will be at 1 p.m. and Earl Smith; and two sisters, Mary and Pearl Moore.

Survivors include two sons, Edward L. Clatterbaugh of Staunton and Walter G. Clatterbaugh of Covington; a daughter, Madeline Wonderley of Crimora; and four sisters, Elizabeth Lilly and Clara Driver, both of Staunton, Bertie Kirby of Verona and Martha Dodson of Florida. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Henry Funeral Home.
