station has just passed through another banner month In the words ot the officer In charge Captain Thomas Ryan It was the best month we have ever had and the best In the history of recruiting service the United States During the month ot March 26 men enlisted in the United States army through the local recruiting station which is as Captain Ryan said a new record not only tor the tocarf office but for every other office In the country ior several monuui ru Waynes station has lead all others securing enlistments Because of the great Influx ot recruits the quarters In the Swtnney block occupied by the recruiting have proved inadequate during the past tew weeks Expansion became neces sary and captain Iiyan secured a lease on two rooms formerly occu pled by Phil Colerlck an attorney ad Joining those ot the recruiting office Today the officers expanded their quarters into their new rooms and tor a time at least the added space will make the quarters large enough to handle the dally Increasing number of recruits The Becker Motor company iiave donated to Captain Ryan and his men an automobile to be used in the re cruiting work Tho presentation or the machine was a voluntary offer
