He was born March 7, 1905 in the Town of Little Wolf, Waupaca County, the son of the late William and Minnie Flater. December 3, 1932 he married Mildred N. Polley at the Lutheran Church in Almond, WI. He and his wife farmed for 31 years. He retired because of failing health and moved to Manawa in 1964.

Mr. Flater worked part time for the City of Manawa until 1979. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Manawa, Survivors include his wife, Mildred; a daughter and son-in-law, Lucille and Clarence Lipke, Waupaca; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a stepgreat-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and six brothers. The funeral will be at 2 p.m.

Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Manawa, with the Rev. Evan Dieck officiating. Interment will be In Little Creek Cemetery, Town of Little Wolf. Friends may call at the Cline, Hanson, Dahlke Funeral Home, Manawa, after 4 p.m. Tuesday and until 11 a.m.

He lived most of his life in the Fox Valley. Etta Daniels Bentz Kruse 1111 N. Durkee St. Age 86, died at 10:10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 1983, following a lengthy illness.

She was born November 28, 1896, in Irma, and had been an Appleton resident all of her married life. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Ber-nice Hartung Swenson and her husband, LaVem Swenson, Apple-ton; a son, Raymond Bentz, Apple-ton; a sister, Mrs. Julia Emerich, Tomahawk; a grandson, Richard, and his wife, Donna Hartung; and three great-grandchildren, Kathy, Mark and Patty Hartung. Funeral services will be 11 a.m.

Tuesday at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior with the Rev. Ausmund E. Norson officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery.

She was born January 21, 1901 in Menasha, where she had been a lifelong resident. She was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis and the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin. Survivors include a brother, Anton, Menasha; a sister, Mathilda, Menasha; nieces; and nephews. The funeral will beat Wednesday at the Laemmrich Funeral Home, and at 11 a.m.

at St. Mary Catholic Church, Menasha, with the Rev. trick Markey officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
