Before working at St. Anthony, she was program manager for Spencer Halfway House in Newark. Money raised also will be concentrated on drug and alcohol research, Ms. Franks said. "We know what the signs and symptoms (of drug and alcohol abuse) are and we know how to treat it," she said, "but we need to expand the genetic and physiological research." The hospital may also consider expanding, she said, though that is not in the facilities immediate plans.

The facility's recovery residence, which has 56 beds, has reached its capacity, she said. Ms. Franks said she will concentrate on securing grants as well as corporate and individual donations. Shepherd Hill Hospital today announced Annette M. Franks has been named director of development at the hospital.

Franks will be responsible for raising over $1 million in the next two years to fund the hospital's research and educational programs. Donald Boyanowski, executive director of the hospital, said the facility does not receive state or federal aid, but relies exclusively on donations and patient fees. The hospital is a drug and alcohol treatment center. The hospital, which employs about 80 people, has an annual budget of $3.5 million to $4 million, he said. Continuing the hospital's education and research programs is important, Boyanowski said, because "we're not here to just fill beds, treat patients and then turn them out.

We need to do follow-up, not just treatment." Ms. Franks, a former case manager at St. Anthony's Medical Center in Columbus, said her goal is to educate Prime Downtown Location 250-1400 square feet available. Dear Dick: We would have spent Christmas together five year ago today, but God said, and He took you away. I know it is where you wanted to be, but oh, the heartache you left on me.

I know you wouldn't want me to cry, but the heartache gets worse as time goes by. I lay awake at night and think of all the things I could have said, and the tears run down my cheeks on the pillow of my bed. That ring of laughter I can still hear from that wonderful broher I loved so dear. The thoughts and pictures that remain in my mind, are the wonderful memories you left behind.
