First, I arrived at my class one morning to find my "spot" in the back row had been set apart by white tape.

I felt like Les Nessman on "WKRP" with his imaginary door around his desk. Then I received several letters of disbelief. One of these letters (unsigned) came from Sunnymead, Calif. She wrote, "I was glad to see in the end of your column you said you were just kidding about losing your spot in aerobics. After all, it is so silly.

Ebben and the former Elizabeth Hietpas were married Aug. 8, 1922, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Kimberly. Ebben farmed at route 1 until retiring 20 years ago. He was also employed as an assistant superintendent at Stokely-Van Camp, Appleton. The couple has six children; Gerald, Cornelius and Irene Diedrich, all of Greenville; John and George, both of Little Chute, and Mary Feldkamp, Wrightstown.

There are 55 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. "The woman proceeded to tell the others around her what a dingaling I was.

After class she chewed me out. Here was a woman in her 50s acting so much, like a child, I just stood there with my mouth open. "I do not like to argue and the reason I go (to Jazzercise) is to have fun, relieve tension and have one hour away from the kids. I was tempted to come back with a piece of chalk and mark her spot so no other poor soul could suffer from her childish behavior. "Needless to say I stay clear of her and exercise on the opposite side of the room.

But guess who always is the first one at the door? That's right. Women aren't all that protective. I used to exercise in a class with Sandra O'Connor and when she went to Washington to join the Supreme Court, they tell me they retired her mat. All I'm asking is that they retire my "space." Or in the counsel of Matthew 5:5: "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth." And that includes whatever space is not spoken for. Minus One in Man-kato Dear One: Your problem isn't your hair or your nose or your feet. It's how you feel about yourself. Have a session with a woman in a store where cosmetics are sold.

She can help you with your face and hair, and would even suggest the type of clothes that will flatter your figure. Everyone likes to be around people who are pleasant, friendly and well-informed. Go to work on the inside of your head, too. This world is filled with beautiful people who are miserable. Good looks are no guarantee that life will be kind to you.

So, stop moaning about what you don't have and develop the resources at hand. Ann Landers discusses teen-age drinking its myths, its realities. Vou say you love my wife and want to marry her? Well, why don't you? I'll tell you. Because you don't want her on a full-time basis.

She would be impossible, and you know it. Also, she doesn't want to marry you because you couldn't even afford her shoe bills. I would dump her in your lap and let you two goofs figure it out, but she is a good mother and her children need her. Some people probably think I am crazy to put up with this, but I have my priorities straight and I know you will get sick to death of her after awhile and that will be that. By the way, who is sleeping with your wife while you are spending so many evenings with mine? Funny how husbands who cheat never give it a thought.

I could tell you his name, but I've told you too much already. Keep smiling, chum. Life can be beautiful. Her Husband Dear Husband: Were you sober when you wrote that letter? I doubt it. But I am printing it because you've zeroed tn on a point or two that might wake up a few dozen (hundred? thousand?) people.

Thanks for writing. Dear Ann Landers: You printed a letter from a woman who broke her hip when she turned over in bed. Robert P. Heaney of the American Society for Bone and Mineral Research. He recommended daily exercise, either running or walking. Bones, like anything else, tend to atrophy if they are not used. A calcium-rich diet, which means milk and other dairy products, can also be helpful.

Heaney warns against large amounts of Vitamin A and D. If taken in massive doses over a long period of time, the bones will deteriorate. I checked this out with my physician, and he said it was worth writing to you about because many people don't like to go to doctors and can learn a lot from your column. Have a good day. Emma in High Point, N.C.

Dear Emma: I checked out the information with my consultant in Chicago and he said Heaney knows what he is talking about. So, thanks for the input and have a nice day yourself. Dear Ann Landers: I am 16 years old and just plain ugly. My hair is frizzy, my nose is too big, my lips are too thick, my skin is bad, I'm too skinny, and I wear a size 9 shoe. Don't tell me looks don't matter.

I hear that a lot from people who are good-looking. recovery When Arnie Weinstein played the hand in a recent regional tournament he knew that nine tricks wouldn't be enough since other North-South pairs would score 620 or 650 points at four hearts. DECEPTIVE MOVE Weinstein tried to recover by winning the first trick deceptively with the ace of spades and leading a diamond. West played low, and dummy won with the king. Declarer got back with a heart to the queen, which might well look like a successful finesse, and led his other diamond.

West stepped up with the ace of diamonds and confidently led a spade to his partner's supposed queen. Now declarer won in dummy with the jack of spades and ran the diamonds to get rid of his clubs. His score of 690 points for winning 12 tricks gave Weinstein a top instead of a bottom. DAILY QUESTION Partner bids one spade, and the next player passes. You hold: S-J753; H-974; D-KQ986; C-7.

What do you say? ANSWER: Bid four spades. This jump to game promises at least four trumps, almost surely a singleton or void in a side suit, and not more than nine points in high cards. Partner should not consider a slam unless he can virtually go it alone. You hope to shut the opponents out if the hand "belongs" to them. Aug.
