living along the Virginia shore above the Aqueduct bridge would be vastly benefited by the establishment of a direct line of communication between the lines of the Washington and Old Dominion Railway and the city proper it was urged in a communication to the public utilities commission yesterday from the Old Dominion Protective Association The petition asks that the commission order when the new Aqueduct bridge is done that the Washington Railway and Electric and the Capital Traction companies be compelled to give the use of their tracks to the Old Dominion for this direct communication It states that early action is so licited as much money is involved In the Investment on the part of the Old Dominion assuming that the city terminal of that line will be at the north end of the Aqueduct bridge Lafayette Chapter No 5 Royal Arch Masons entertained over 200 of the order many of whom are prominent in business and fraternal circles in Alexandria and Washington at a dinner and muslcale last night in the banquet hall of the New Masonic Temple The affair which was in the nature of a reunion as well as a compliment to High Priest William Parsons whose year It is said has been unusually successful was in charge of a committee composed of James McCarthy Frank Sprigg Perry and William Quinter Previous to the dinner and entertainment the fourth degree of the York rite of Masonry was conferred on several candidates In the chapter room Frank Perry Toastmaster Frank Sprigg Perry presided as toast master and addresses were delivered by High Priest William Parsons and Roe Fulkerson grand master of the second vail and senior grand steward of the District grand lodge Dr William Fowler most excellent grand high priest was prevented from being present by a serious illness The invocation was delivered by Jason Waterman past master of Washington Centennial Lodge No 14 A A A choir composed of Miss Ethel Miner Miss Richie McLean Miss Hazel Bornhelm and Miss Florence Steffena
