Lambert -Sheets WAYNESBORO Miss Cynthia Diane Sheets became the bride of Jerry Michael Lambert on Saturday evening at 7 o'clock in Waynesboro Church of the Brethren. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Annie H. Sheets of Rt. 1, Fishersville.

Parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Lambert of Rt. 2, Waynesboro.

The Rev. Robert E. Houff performed the double-ring ceremony, with a program of nuptial music provided by Mrs. James McDaniel, organist, and Mrs. Priscella Snyder of Staunton, vocalist.

The bride, given in marriage by her brother, Glen A. Sheets, wore a formal-length gown of white polyorganza lined in acetate taffeta. The lace bodice, enhanced by seed pearls, was designed with a re-embroidered scalloped neckline and stand-up collar, bishop sleeves ending in deep cuffs accented by lace and a high-rise waistline. Lace trimmed the skirt and hemline of the sweeping chapellength train. Her fingertip-length veil of illusion, edged with' lace, was attached to a lace cap trimmed with seed pearls.

She carried a nosegay of white roses, miniature carnations, lavender chrysanthemums and baby's breath with a removable corsage of roses and carnations. Miss Karen Sheets of Fishersville and Mrs. Toni Johnson of Baltimore, were their sister's maid and matron of honor, respectively. Bridesmaids were the Misses Deanna Lotts of Fishersville and Lori Lambert, sister of the bridegroom. Acolyte was Derwin Nelson of Keswick, cousin of the bridegroom.

The bridegroom's father served as best man. Ushers were Phillip Sheets of Fishersville, brother of the bride, C. Bernard Lambert, brother of the bridegroom, and Joe Harris Jr. A reception was held in the church social hall. Mrs.

Julie Garber and Miss Terri Callison served the cake and Miss Cindy Harris and Mrs. Ricky Breeden presided at the punch bowl. The Misses Judy Skinner and Cathy Lilley were in charge of the gift table, with Miss Connie McGrath at the guest book. After a wedding trip to West Virginia, the couple will reside at Rt. 2, Waynesboro.

Mrs. Lambert is a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School and Valley Vocational-Technical Center. Lambert is a graduate of Stuarts Draft High School. He is employed by Blue Ridge Grocery. Extension Augusta County Extension Agents, Home Economics, Mrs.

Dorothy Stansberry and Mrs. Mary E.T. Barger, report the following activities for May: Assisted with the Extension Technician Conference. One of the agents served as their adviser this past year. Presented a program on "Improving Social Skills" to the sixth and seventh graders at one of the county elementary schools.

Attended one of the tree planting ceremonies which was a part of the National Extension Homemakers Week. All of the clubs participated in this activity. Assisted with the Extension Homemakers Cultural Arts Contest held to choose the winners to participate at the state level in July. Planned and conducted an adult leader training session on "Improving Skills in Leatherwork." Officers were elected as follows: Ricky Johnson (Augusta), president; Becky Bennett (Staunton), first vice president; Susan Swecker (Augusta), second vice president; Frances Sterrett (Waynesboro), recording secretary; Polly Bundy (Augusta), corresponding secretary; Karen Garber (Augusta), treasurer; Janet Coyner (Waynesboro), parliamentarian, and Charlotte Schooler (Highland), chaplain. Working committees consisting of specific duties were appointed. They include membership, program, newsletter, telephone and public relations. The president encouraged members to attend the Sixth District Jefferson-Jackson Day Dinner at Hollins College on Saturday. Guest speaker will be Owen Pickett, chairman, State Democratic Party of Virginia.

Also scheduled to attend is Richard J. Davis, Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor, and a number of state and local officials. The club was in favor of some form of fund-raising event in support of the statewide ticket, Charles S. Robb, Richard J. Davis and Gerald Baliles.

This project was turned over to the program committee. Approximately 35 women were in attendance. The next meeting is scheduled for Aug. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Fannie Bayly King Library, Staunton.

MISS PEALE Peale- Strickler HARRISONBURG The engagement of Miss Elizabeth Suzanne Peale to Michael David Strickler has been announced by the prospective bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles C. A Sept. 12 wedding is planned. Miss Peale was graduated from Harrisonburg High School and Elizabeth Brant School of Business in the medical office assistance program. She is employed by King's Daughters' Hospital, Staunton. Strickler, son of Mr.

and Mrs. David Strickler of Rt. 3, Elkton, was graduated from Harrisonburg High School and Massanutten Vo-Tech Center. He is employed by Packaging Corp. of America.

WMHS final reunion planning meeting set WAYNESBORO A final planning meeting for the Wilson Memorial High School class of 1951 reunion will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Shoney's Restaurant here. All interested persons are asked to attend. More information can be obtained by calling 942-2377. MRS.

JERRY MICHAEL LAMBERT (Miss Cynthia Diane Sheets) Wildflower tour taken by gardeners Mrs. B.C. Knicely entertained the Lady Staunton Garden Club at her home recently for a luncheon meeting. A wildflower tour was conducted by Mrs. Knicely of 56 different wildflowers identified on her property.

Among them are bloodroot, toothwort, dutchman's breeches, sweet cicely, May, apple, black snakeroot, ferns and violets which grow along the edge of the mountain. Along the property's streamside there are a number of types of wildflowers such as cow parsnip, yarrow, marsh marigold, cardinal and swordfeaf phlox. Throughout the yard and flower beds, Mrs. Knicely has transplanted wild geranium, trillion, bear glass, ox-eye daisy, ferns and blue eyed grass. Mrs.

Knicely recommended a book written by Oscar Gupton and Fred Swope titled, "Wildflowers of the Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge Mountains." The book is color-coded and contains 200 plants with eas follow descriptions, medicinal or food value and those which are poisonous. The following guests were welcomed: Mrs. David Coiner, Mrs. Morrison Reid, Mrs. Paul Taylor and Mrs.

Eloise Lennox. During the brief business session, Mrs. E.S. Balthrop was introduced as a new member. Members signed to bring flower arrangements for the front desk at King's Daughters' Hospital for the month of Mrs.

John Clem III reported on the state meeting held in Norfolk recently. Guest judges, Mrs. Houston Cook and Mrs. Wayne Folds, made the following awards: Artistic blue, Mrs. Balthrop; red, Mrs.

Balthrop and Mrs. R. Dundore. Horticulture blue, Mrs. Dundore, three, Mrs.
