for a nine day leave with Mrs. Groves and other relatives. He is stationed on the USS Forrestal with the guided missile division, US Navy. Mr. and Mrs.

Doyle Simpson and son, David, of Great Bend. Kansas, who arrived Thursday night to vist their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Puntney and Doyle B. Simpson, will leave tomorrow for their home.

Mrs. Richard Lehman and; son, Bruce, of Denver, Colo. are expected to arrive Wednesday to join her daughter, Laura Ann Lehman, who has been visiting Mrs. Lehman's parents, Mr. and Mrs.

W. D. Clark Jr. for the past week. Laura Ann accompanied her grandfather home from Denver more than a week ago.

Story of Rich Young Ruler Studied By Circle Members The Ladies Aid of St. John'slies. Lutheran Church held its May meeting at the home Teal of Mrs. W. Jim Hoffman, Lake Thursday.

There were 11 members and a guest, Mrs. John M. Cadwell, attending. Mrs. Cadwell later became a member of the Aid.

The topic for discussion was "Being Ohristian in Our Tasks" and was taken from the Lutheran Woman's quarterly. The meeting was presided over by Mrs. August Finck and reports were given by Mrs. Walter Wagner and Mrs. Paul Niederschulte concerning the LWML Zone Rally in New Melle.

Members plan to pate in the 25th anniversary celebration of the LWML. After the business session the members made plans for the annual Lutheran picnic to be held June 11 at Plunkett Park. Mins. chairman Ervin of the Hoffman fish was pond chosen committee, and Miss Corine Greening berg for the program skits. Personal Shower For Miss Sublette A bride elect, Miss Marjorie Sublette was honored at a personal shower Wednesday evening in the Show Room of the First National Bank given by Mrs.

Judy Dailing and Mrs. John Meissert. Miss Sublette and Donald Gene Rupp will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, May 27, at the First Christian Church. The 25 guests were served from a table centered with a bouquet of blue and white flowers to carry out the color combination to be used in the wedding, and shower gifts were arranged on a table holding a bouquet of white chrysanthemums. Rupp-Sublette Wedding Invitations Have Been Issued Invitations to the wedding of Miss Marjorie Sublette and Donald Gene Rupp, whose wedding will be a May event, have been Issued. The couple will exchange wedding vows on Saturday, May 27, at the First Christian Church with the pastor, the Rev. George B. Wraith, reading the ceremony at 1:30 o'clock, followed with reception in Fellowship Hall with the bride's mother, Mrs.

Dance Festival Attended by 275 At Green's Empire Club: The Northeast District of the Missouri Federation of Square Round Dance Clubs held the jannual spring square and round dance festival at the Club of the A. P. Green Refractories Co.

Thirty-four cities including 32 from Missouri and one each from Kansas and Arizona were represented by dancers and included callCities In Missouri St. Louis, Kansas City, Neosho, Warrensburg, Sedalia, and many others throughout the state.

Twenty-six different square dance clubs were represented by the dancers. Mr. and Mrs. Jennings Hager Mexico served refreshments to the dancers during the afternoon and assisted in serving the dinner. Workers from the two host clubs prepared and served the dinner.

Hisey Helpers Club Meet at Thompsons The Hisey Helpers Extension Club met at the home of Mrs. Sam D. Thompson Wednesday afternoon. The hostess gave "The Virtures of A Good Wife," as the devotion. Mrs.

Brownie Troop Has Mother-Daughter Tea Brownie Troop 286 of Eugene! Field held a mother -daughter tea Wednesday afternoon at the troop committee mothers, Mrs. St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. Honored by the tea wore the committee mothers, Mrs. F.

J. Hegwer, Mrs. Wells Van Wyngarden, and Mrs. George Stahl; friends of the troop who had helped with projects during the year and the girls mothers. Friends of the troop recognized were: the Rev.

Daniel Weeks, vicar of St. Matthew's Church, Mrs. Harold and Junior Girl Scouts Laurel Enslen and Almeda Whisler. Other mothers attending were: Mrs. Ernest Harvey, Mrs.

W. Stowers, first and second vice presidents; and Mrs. Nelson A. Brown, secretary-treasurer. The retiring president, Mrs.

Ingebritson gave the devotion, "In Friendship's Garden." Guest speaker, Miss Emma Whalen, who was introduced by Mrs. L. A. Valentine, showed slides and spoke on her experience of six months as national farm youth student livwith the village people three different parts in India. Mrs.

JOHN SCHLEMMER, who exchanged wedding vows in a double ring ceremony on April 27 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Vandalia. The former Miss Jo Beth Ball, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Ball of Farber, the bride wore a floor length gown of white taffeta.

Mrs. Crawford Plans Spring Assembly Mother's Day Program For District Six For Rebekah Lodge Of CWF on May 16 A Mother's Day program, arranged by Mrs. Burr Crawford, followed the regular meeting of the Rebekah Lodge Friday in the Show Me Room of the First National Bank.

Mrs. Homer Martin gave "A Tribute to Motherhood;" Mrs. Lloyd Evans read a poem, "To An Unsung Mother;" Mrs. Crawford read an article, "Lest We Forget," concerning a Kentucky mountaineer woman's advice to her daughter; and Miss Barbara Crews gave "To Her Mother," and then pinned a corsage at the shoulder of her mother, Mrs. Leland Crews.

After a duet, "My Mother's Bible," sung by Mrs. Ben Langenbach and Mrs. C. H. Nichols, Mrs.

Crawford closed the program with "A Mother's Day Prayer." Mrs. Roger Freeman, noble grand, who presided at the meeting, was presented a corsage from the group. Mrs. Kenneth Keller and Mrs. Albert Dutton were hostesses.

About 35 members were present. LPNs Hear About Mental Health Center Mrs. M. Lewis Stephenson. Mental Health Association, was guest speaker at the Monday night meeting of the Licensed Practical Nurses alt the Audrain Hospital.

The meeting was held at the Arthur House with Mrs. Virgil Sapp presiding. Mrs. Stephenson outlined plans for the new Mental Health Cen-1 ter and explained its operation. Mrs.

James E. Sterner, instructor of the Mexico Public School of Practical Nursing, showed slides and films of students on duty alt the hospital. Others attending were Mrs. James Shipman, Mrs. Vergi DeVoll, Miss Linda Davis, Mrs.

Twenty-five members and a guest, Mrs. Clarence Heckart, were present.

The Christian Women's Fellowship of district six of the Christian Church of Missouri, (Disciples of Christ), Inc. will hold a spring assembly at the First Christian Church of Mexico, Tuesday May 16, beginning at 10 o'clock until two-thirty p. m. The purpose of the meeting will be of a threefold nature: Fellowship, election of officers and the distribution of materials for the program for the coming year. A luncheon will be served at noon and baby-sitters will be provided throughout the day.

TWO CIRCLES MEET Mundy Circle of the Woman's Society of Christian Service of the Mexico Methodist Church met jointly with the Bruce Circle in the educational building Tuesday evening. The two circles met separately for business sessions, at which time the following new Mundy Circle officers were ap pointed by acclamation: Mrs.
