Page MEXICO, Sept. 23, 1977 Tom Bass Day To Be Oct. 9 The Audrain County Historical Society along with the American Royal Horse Show Association of Kansas City will hold a Tom Bass day in Mexico Oct. 9. On that day two tombstones will be dedicated.

These have been purchased by the American Royal Horse Show Association for the graves of Mrs. Angia Bass and Inman Bass, wife and son of Tom Bass. Tom Bass helped start the American Royal and was a major contributor to its growth and development. The dedication of the stones will be at 2 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery with a reception at the Audrain County Historical Society to follow at 2:30.

Bill Downey, author of the book "Tom Bass, Black Horseman," which was published two years ago, will be on hand Mrs. Tom (Angia) Bass to autograph copies. It was because of this book that a wave of memorial conscience came about, and the markers are now being placed on these graves. Special reminiscences will be given by Mrs. Emma Fountain, Leonard Hook and Arthur Simmons.

Bill Harsh of the American Royal Horse Show Association and Colonel Charles Stribling III, president of the historical society will be on hand to welcome those in attendance. A memorial has been received for F. Morris Crews and Mrs. Virgil Anderson. The Audrain County Historical Society will hold its first television show of the fall season on Channel 12, See-Tv on Sept.

DEAR HELOISE: When my family was growing up and I made hot rolls, everyone fought for the "center" rolls. One day, the "wheels" started turning and I came up with an idea so everyone could have center rolls.

I cut thin strips of bread dough and lined the sides of the pan, then placed the rolls in as usual. When they were baked, I merely peeled off the outside crust, leaving all center rolls. Those crunchy crusts never went to waste as they were later spread with cheese, and toasted for appetizers. Vestena Backus DEAR HELOISE: Our friend's pride in herself as an immaculate housekeeper (outrageously insulting to most of us wives and mothers) has so impaired her personality (and her friendships) that she expects everyone else to be like herself. We solved the problem of her home inspection by leaving the litter around for her to clean up when she does come to visit.

It wasn't the best solution, but it did work! Mrs. B.L. Litman Approximately 70 people attended the Sampson reunion for a covered dish dinner Sunday at the Robert S.
