inning Score 1 to 0 Ferguson toed the rubber for the Aggies and was in fine form striking out fourteen of his opponents and allowing but three hits It was due to an error by him however that brought abou the result In the ninth Inning after both teams had played eight sessions without a semblance of a run the Railroad League representatives got together and pushed ono over the plate Ruppert opened the ninth round by going out to the first btseman Taylor hit safely and reached second on a passed ball Ferguson threw wild to second in an attempt to cateh hlra napping and Taylor tore over the plate with the only run of the game The clerks made a strong bid for the game In their final turn at the bat Graham opened with a nice single to center and reached second when Legge threw Barbers the outfield but he dropped Lynchs hot liner yesterday after he got both hands on the ball With Kerr Gray and Balzer Brentwood is well fortified with pitchers All three are heady slabmen with a world of speed Kerr had lots of EDeed and had the Pen sion Bureau youngsters swinging at the force SHAPPIRIO 8 PARK 4 Shappldo came to life again yesterday and sprung a big surprise in the National A A League by taking Park into Gamp easily In a six Inning game The Shapplrio boys have been having trouble lately In getting out a full team and on several occasions have had to for felt but yesterday they came out in full Photo by Buck Jimmy Kerr the fourth inning after Brentwood had scored fourteen runs and did not allow another tally It must be said for Lynch and Robinson his predecessor on the slab that they were given miserable support but had their team mates hacked them up perfectly the real outcome would have been the same Fifteen hits five of which were for extra bases really tells the story of Brentwoods victory and the team that can stop them can be banked on to win the District championship Robinson played a stellar game for Brentwood after being shifted to second base He fielded his position in faultless style many of his stops being sensational Eight chances were his share for th afternoon and they were all handled without the slightest wobble It is said that Pension Bureau was weakened tp a great extent by the absence of players a shift having to be made on this account Score Three in First Brentwood scored three runs in the first iniiing Handiboe was given a life on Murphys errer and went to third on Kinneyfs single to left The Pension Bureau infield took a nap and Handiboe stole home Kinney going to second 1 Hessler put a safe one in right scoring Kinney Keane sacrificed Hessler to second from where he counted on Herrings single The next two batters were easy Brentwood cinched the game In the second Inning and as a result made a shift in the line up Kinney leaving the game Hayes Igoins 10 third Moreland behind the baj and Hessler to second They tallied seven runs in this session Hayes opened with a triple to right Kerr was passed and stole second Handiboe was tossed out from pitcher to first Kinney scored Hayes and Kerr on his triple to right Hessler was walked Keane reached first on a fielders choice when Madder Attempted to throw Hessler out at second Madden then allowed Herrings grounder to get by him Kinney and Hessler scoring on the play Herring going to second McDonald was passed but Noyes was an easy out Madden to Murphy Hayes made his second hit during the inning Herring and McDonald scoring Kerr ended the inning when he flew but to Madden Brentwood Scores More Just to make sure Brentwood scored Lcur rnpre in the third Handiboe Keane at the plata hutbisithrow was a poor one Herring went top second on the throw in McDon aid singled to left Herring going to third Herring then scored firentwoods last run bf the game on a squeeze play Noyes beingtbrown out at first Barney took up the task in the next inning and prevented further scoring in the meantime Pension Bureau coujd vdo nothing jwith Kerr Urnpire Hughes called the gameat the end of rthe eighth ball after it had crossed the plate After the game looked to be on ice at the conclusion of the second inning Dutch Kinney hustled over to Thirteenth and northeast to get into the Ninth Bethany game The closest Pension came to scoring was in the sixth inning when Robinson tried to come home when Moreland threw to second to catch Mess stealing Mess was safe but McDonald made a good return home and nipped Robinson by a foot Robinson made the best play of the game in the seventh inning Moreland smashed a hot grounder a few feet to the right of Becond bag but going at top speed Robinson grabbed the ball with his bare hand and got it to first in time to gt Moreland by inches The seventh was the only inning Kerr failed to fan a Pension Bureau batsman He struck out three in the third and in all the other innings with the exception of the fifth cfnd sixth two batters fanned AGGIES ARE DEFEATED Lose Great Game to Union Station in Section Championship
