a a a Obituaries Mrs. Martin L. Downs (Anita Krahn) 1000 Greengrove Road, Appleton Age 54, passed away suddenly at 4:30 a.m. Saturday. She was born March 10, 1915 in Oconto Falls and has lived in the Appleton area since 1939.

Prior to her marriage she was X-ray and medical technician in an Kaukauna. Mrs. Downs was a tional member of the First CongregaChurch and active in the service circle of the Kings Daughters. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Stephanie, Boston University; and Kathleen, at Radcliff; her mother, Mrs. G.

W. Krahn, Green Bay; one brother, William Krahn, Green Bay; two sisters, Mrs. George (Leigh) Behnke, Kaukauna; and Mrs. Louis (Lorraine) Meyers, Wichita, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her father, the late Dr.

G. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and pending at the Wichmann Funeral Home. Mr. Wilbert H. Discher 2932 Island Point Oshkosh Age 67, passed away last evening at his home.

He was born in the Town of Neenah, May 7, 1900. He retired from Meyer and Sons Construction Company, Oshkosh, in August, 1967. Survivors are his wife, Marguerite; one daughter, Mrs. Roy (Lorraine) Ciske; one son, Robert; and four grandchildren, all of Appleton. Private funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.

on Monday at Fiss and Bills Funeral Home, Oshkosh, with the Rev. Thomas Asuma officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from to 8 p.m.. on Sunday. Burial will be in the Omro Cemetery.

Mrs. Fred Emmer Fannie Lettler Villa St. Vincent, New London Age 77, passed away Saturday morning at 4:30 a.m. She was born December 24, 1890, in the town of Harrison. She is survived by two sons, Howard, Appleton; Hilary, Rt.

2, Menasha; one brother, Peter Lettler, Sherwood; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Lautenschlager and Mrs. Katherine Kurey, both of Appleton; and Mrs. Anna Gosz, Sherwood; 9 grandchildren and 9 great Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Appleton.

Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sherwood. Friends may call at Wichmann Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Sunday and rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Sunday evening. Mrs.

Clara S. Geelan 125 Meade Neenah Age 69, passed away unexpectedly on Friday. She was born Nov. 27, 1898 in Waupaca County. Mrs.

Geelan was employed by the Wisconsin Telephone Co. for many years before her retirement. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Clarence F. Neenah. Geelan Her preceded husband 4 her in death in 1962.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Jack Thomsen, Ft. Worth, Texas. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Kessler Funeral Home with the Rev. C.

Richard Johnson, pastor of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kessler Funeral Home after 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Gilbert R. Kunstman 836 Airport Road, Menasha Age 56, passed away at 11:20 p.m.

Friday after an extended illness. He was born July 17, 1911 in Town of Cicero. He had lived in Appleton for a period of 22 years and at his present address for the past four years. Mr. Kunstman was a member of the 25 year club of the Appleton Coated Paper Co.

and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Babino Kunstman, one daughter, Nancy Carol, at one son, James, Rt. 2, Menasha; 5 grandchildren, Peggy, Linda, James Jay and Tommy; three brothers, Frank and Raymond, both of Appleton; Vern, Green Bay; three sisters, Mrs. Ed (Leone) Ganzel, Appleton; Mrs. Richard (Lena) Court, Seymour; Mrs.

Donald (Elsie) Matherson, Amberg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Zion Lutheran Church, with the Rev. W. H.

Gammelin, officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home from 2 p.m. Sunday and after 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church until the time of the service.

Mrs. Minnie Kubitz 112 1 E. Taft Ave. Age 82, passed away at 4:45 this morning after a lingering illness. She was born May 12, 1885 in Appleton and has lived in Appleton all of her life.

She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church. Survivors are one son, Harold G. a Mr. Anton Nelessen Wrightstown, Wis. Age 79, passed away. Friday afternoon following a lingering illness. He was born April 13, 1888, in Wrightstown, and farmed in this area all of his life.

He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Paul's Catholic Church. Survivors are six sons, Norbert, Kimberly; Urban and Robert of Kaukauna; Clarence of Little Chute; James, Appleton and Eugene, Menomonee Falls; seven daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Ruth) Vande Hey, Little Chute; Mrs. Ed (Marie) Vosters; Mrs.

Wilfred (Eunice) Vosters, both of Appleton; Mrs. Eugene (Delores) Van Camp and Mrs. Gordon (Mildred) Newhouse, both of Kaukauna; Mrs. Richard (Helen) Diedrich, Mrs. Dale (Sophia) Meulemans, both of West De Pere: 85 grandchildren a and eight gre a t-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the De Wane Funeral Home in Wrightstown 2 p.m. on Sunday and the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 on Monday mornling at the St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. August Broekman officiating and burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Sgt. Thomas W. Otte 910 Wilson Kaukauna Age 23, was killed in action in Vietnam on February 3, 1968. He was born August 14, 1944 in Kaukauna. Thomas graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1963 and participated in baseball, football, cross country and was captain of the basketball team in his senior year.

He was a student council representative each of his four years in school and was active in Kau Hi News, Quill Scroll, Glee Club, mixed chorus and the lettermen's club. After three years at Wisconsin State University at Oshkosh he entered the army in 1966. Thomas is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Richard Otte, Kaukauna; two brothers, James, Weyauwega; Richard, Port Washington; one sister, Barbara, Lexington, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. from the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, were military rites will be conducted. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home after 2 p.m, Monday were the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday.

Mrs. Amos Ritchie Former Nellie Moran 220 E. 17th Kaukauna Age 70, died at 7:30 this morning after a long illness. She was born September 23, 1898, at Deer Creek, Wis. She lived at Bear Creek until moving to 10 years ago.

She was a member of St. Aloysius Altar Society. Survivors are one brother, Thomas Moran; one sister, Mrs. Fred Wolf and nieces and nephews. The mass will be at 11 o'clock at St.

Aloysius Church, Kaukauna, and burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bear Creek. Father Theodore Hendricks will be in charge. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home after 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, and the rosary will be prayed at 8 o'clock Sunday night. Miss Emma Wauda 228 5th Neenah Age 94, passed away Friday morning.

She was born September 29, 1873 at High Cliff. She was one of 11 children of John and Elizabeth Wauda, pioneer settlers of Calumet County. Except for a short period she lived most of her life in Neenah. She was a member of the First (Evangelical United Brethren Church and the determined workers Bible Class. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs.

Fred Helms and Miss Elsie Wauda and one brother, John, all of Neenah; four newphews and four nieces. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. from the First Evangelical United Brethren Church with the Rev. Bryce G. Armstrong, officiating.

Wage Rates: Pursuant to Section 66.293 Wisconsin Statutes, the City of Appleton will have on file at the City Clerk's office, the rate of wage scale that shall be paid by the Contractor to employees on the project. No bid shall be received unless accompanied by certified check or bid bond equal to per cent of the bid, payable to the City as a guarantee that If the bid is accepted the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within 10 days from the date the lowest responsible bidder's bid is accepted. In case the bidder fails to file such contract and bond within the time set by the City, the check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the City as liquidated damages. The City reserves the right to reiect any and all bids or to accept any bid deemed for the best interests of the City, and to waive any informalities in bidding.
