He was born Nov. 24, 1984, in Staunton to David and Melinda Johnson. He was preceded in death by grandmother, Betty J. Butler, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.

Wilson Ellis and Scott and Vivian Lucas; uncles, Glenn W. Lucas, Hunter a and Lucy Norcross and Timothy Craig Butler. He is survived by his beloved parents, David and Melinda Johnson; grandparents, Robert and Larue Lucas; grandparents, Jane and Vernon Kidd; grandfather, Frank T. Butler uncle, Robert and Lisa Lucas aunt, Alice Atkins and her companion, Michael Mooney; uncle, Steven Johnson and his wife, Barbara, uncle, Timothy Johnson, uncle, Michael Butler, aunt, Donna Gayle, uncle, Victor Butler, uncle, Tommy Butler and his beloved pets, Memphis and Max. In addition he is survived by numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and his special friends, Cody, Travin and Eddie.

Aaron loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and anything that had wheels. His favorite pastime was listening to music and being involved with all sports. He was a devoted craftsman and loved working with his hands and had a passion for art. The family will receive friends from 6p.m. to 8 p.m.

GROTTOES aldson, 71, of Grottoes, day, March 20, 2012, He was born in Oct. 27, 1940, and George and Ada Belle McDonaldson Leroy Wilson McDonpassed away on Tuesat his home.

Rockingham County on was a son of the late (Gooden) McDon- aldson. Leroy worked as a maintenance technician at Black Rock Mobile Home Park and was a carpenter all his life. He attended Stonewall United Methodist Church in Staunton and attended Montevideo High School. He was united in marriage on June 9, 1962, to Lavon Marie (Rankin) McDonaldson, who survives. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are five daughters, Patricia Ann Hunsaker and husband, Chris, of Grottoes, Alisa Renee Randolph and husband, Billy, of Grottoes, Tina Marie Harris and husband, Todd, of Waynesboro, Sharon Leigh McDonaldson and husband, Ricky Simmons, of Grottoes and Karen Lynn Knott and husband, Jeff, of Mount Solon; six sisters, Maggie Herring of Rocky Bar, Pauline Shifflett of Elkton, Frances Marshall and husband, Louis, of Rocky Bar, Beulah Merica and husband, Donald, of Elkton, Ethel Belle Cook of Elkton and Sherry Hensley and husband, Eugene, of Elkton.

He also is survived by 11 grandchildren, Dawn Hepner, Candi Jerrells, C. W. Roberts III, English Knott, Bryan Randolph, E.J. Thompson, Chelsea Thompson, Tasha McDonaldson, Brittany Knott, Josh Simmons and Aliyah Randolph; and six great Caleb Jerrells, Brayden McDonaldson, Riley Hepner, Alex Jerrells, Gaven Hepner, Collin Roberts; and two great -grandsons on the way. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell McDonaldson and Ralph McDonaldson; and two sisters, Virginia Walton and Christine Neff.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Johnson Funeral Service Chapel in Grottoes with Pastor Brad Lewis officiating. Campbell to no information provided, no Kendall, 64, widower of Martha Diane (Bane) Kendall, of 217 Orchard Road, died March 20, 2012, at Envoy of Staunton. He was born on March 21, 1947, in Rymer, W. the son of Edward and Margery (Snodgrass) Kendall. He was raised in Mobley, Wetzel County, W. Va.

He was a graduate of Valley High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Fairmont State College. He retired from the Augusta County School system in 2001 after 33 years of service at Wilson Memorial High School and S. Gordon Stewart Middle School. Mr. Kendall was an active member of Staunton's Aerie 680 Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He enjoyed gardening, watching sports and was an avid listener of the "1950 -1980 Oldies." In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Edwina and brothers William, Stanley, Larry and James Nelson. He is survived by his son, Christopher James Kendall and daughter-in-law, Andrea, of Fishersville; his stepdaughter, Rosa Faye Benson of Grottoes; Judith Rachel of Cornelius, N.C.; granddaughter, Kira Diane; step grandsons, Derek and Will Binion; and step granddaughter Kasey Moore. Also surviving are sister-in-laws, Delores Gage of Florida, Karen Bane of Glen Allen and Donna Woods of Staunton and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2012, in Henry Funeral Home Chapel followed by a graveside service at Augusta Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be James Doyle, Keith Maclam, Richard Coffey, Phil Mohler, John Harris, Tom Chrismann and Doug Hupman. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary attending as well as any fellow teacher, former student or friend. Franklin, N.Y., on Aug. daughter of the late (Barber) Rhodes. Carolyn was a member of Salem Lutheran Evangelical Church, where she was active in the E.L.C.W and the adult Bible class.

She was a member of the Friendship Club of Mount Sidney and the XYZ Club of Mount Sidney. She was united in marriage on Nov. 18, 1934, to Edson Cutler Reid, who preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 1991. Surviving are six children, Priscilla Cronk and husband, Doug, of Arcade, N.Y., James Reid and wife, Joann, of Staunton, Nancy Woody and husband, Bill, of Verona, Ed Reid and wife, Ruth, of Shenandoah, Ruth Flick of Mount Sidney and Helen Wright of Staunton; a sister, Inez Huftalen of Hendersonville, N.C.; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great -grandchildren also survive.

A funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2012, at Salem Lutheran Evangelical Church with the Rev. Christopher D. Carr and Chaplain Debra Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Johnson Funeral Service in Bridgewater. The band includes his wife, Martha Gravett, who plays church bass and clogs, and daughters, Molly, who plays mandolin and banjo, and Mauren, who plays guitar and sings.
