Appleton Post-Crescent Telephone 543 "Ad-Taker' REAL ESTATE FOR SALE TO FIGHT POLLUTION Afiitlison (P) Wisconsin, ta, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York health departments, have entered into an agreement to cooperate in carrying out a policy for the improvement of the Great Lakes and their tributary streams, Including the correction undue pollution, In order to make them safe as sources of public water supply. Such an agreement was adopted last week at Gary by engineers of the health departments of the states concerned.

Wisconsin was re presented by L. F. Warrick, state sanitary engineer, anfl Adolph Kannc- berg, chairman of the state water pollution committee created by the 1927 legislature. Under resolutions of the conference, the chief engineers of the depart ments of health were authorized to meet and form an organization to prosecute "such studies and investigations necessary to prevent or correct the undue pollution of the Great Lakes and tributary streams." The U. S.

Three Appleton contractors submitted similup bids for laying walks at the last meeting of the city council. The bids wera ordered filed and the summer's will be divided among, the three.
