WJEEKL Orem-Geneva Times TIMES TV WEEKLY November 7, 1990 "Oliver" to play at Mt. View School A 1 I I bjr J- The curtain of the stage production adapted by Lionel Bart opens on the sinister interior of the workhouse with bare dining tables strewn about the stage. The doors open and the pale-faced workhouse boys file to the Widow Corney, who runs the workhouse, and Mr. Bumble, the parish beadle, enter and a thin gruel is served. Wolfing the meager fare, the boys hopelessly- stack their bowls, but the hapless Oliver approaches Bumble with the -entreaty "Please sir, may I have some more?" He is instantly subdued.

Oliver is then brought forward, bag and baggage, and led off by Bumble who sells him to the local undertakes, Mr. Sowerber-ry. Alone and frightened, surrounded by coffins, Oliver sings the plaintive WHERE IS LOVE. He runs away the next morning, and is picked up hungry and tired by the Artful Dodger who cheers him up with CONSIDER YOURSELF. The Dodger leads him through crowded streets to Fagin's kitchen.

Thus starts the adventure of Oliver Twist, that eventually takes him through scenes of abduction, kidnapping, intrigue and in the end the love he so desires.
