At 5:30 p.m. Monday, police responded to another family fight. However, they were unable to make an arrest until 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. Anthony Wayne Taylor, 19, was arrested for domestic threat against life and domestic violence in the presence of a child after he allegedly threatened his wife in the presence of his children.

Harding said Taylor's wife, who he is currently separated from, brought their children over to see him Monday. However, when she went to leave Taylor reportedly attempted to grab one of the children out of the car. "She stepped in between to stop him from taking the kid," Harding said. "She told him to come by her dad's house to see the kids, but he told her, 'If you ever try and take the kids I will slit your throat in your Harding said the kids heard the entire conversation, which concerned their mother. He added police were unable to locate Taylor at the time of the report, but he was discovered at a local trailer park on Tuesday afternoon.

"He denied he threatened her, but we have to look at who has the most cause to lie," Harding said. "He would lie to protect himself, where the mother of the children has more cause to tell the truth." He added the criteria to arrest someone is much lower than the criteria required to find someone guilty in court. "There may not be enough evidence to find someone guilty in the court of law, but the law states if the suspect probably did what they are accused of, we can arrest them," Harding said. Taylor was booked into Purgatory Correctional Facility on $1,174 bail. By STEPHANIE COOTS scootsthespectrum.com ST.

GEORGE The St. George Police Department responded to a number of family fights Tuesday that resulted in several arrests. Sgt. Craig Harding, public information officer for the department, said officers were called to a family fight at the 400 South block of 1200 East after a couple began physically abusing one another on the side of the road. David Scott Dutton, 32, and Sara Jane Richmond, 23, were allegedly head-butting and hitting one another in a fight over the car keys.

'They were partially in the car and partially put," Harding said. "In the struggle, the key broke off in the ignition." Harding said because officers at the scene could not tell who the primary aggressor was, both parties were arrested for simple domestic assault. Richmond was also charged with failure to stop at the command of a law enforcement officer. Dutton was booked into Purgatory Correctional Facility on $987 bail and Richmond was booked on $2,837 bail. At 4:30 p.m., police officers responded to a second family fight at the 1735 West block of 540 North.

Harding said St. George resident Thomas Young, 24, became violent with his wife during an argument. "He head-butted her in the face and when she pushed away he (Young) punched her in the back," Harding said. According to police reports, the violence took place in the presence of the couple's three sons. Young was arrested on charges of simple domestic assault and domestic violence in the presence of a child.
