WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 4, 2006 SOUTH FLORIDA SUN-SENTINEL PUBLIC HEARING January 25, 2006 6:00 PM State Road 820 (Pines Boulevard) Project Development and Environmental Study From Hiatus Road to Palm Avenue City of Pembroke Pines, Broward County Financial Project ID 419241-1-58-01 The State of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District Four, has scheduled a Public Hearing for 1 the State Road 820 (Pines Boulevard) Project Development and Environment Study from Hiatus Road to Palm Avenue in the City of Pembroke Pines, Broward County, Florida. This Hearing will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at 6:00 P.M. in the Pembroke Pines City Hall, Commission Chambers, 10100 Pines Boulevard, Pembroke Pines, Florida. This Public Hearing is being held to present the results of the Study (to date) and to seek input from the public regarding the proposed transportation improvements. The Public Hearing format will begin with an informal one-hour period for reviewing the project plans and reports.

FDOT representatives will be available during this time to explain the project and answer questions on an individual basis. Following the informal portion, a formal project presentation will be given at 7:00 P.M. by the Department on the concepts and associated impacts, followed by a public testimony period. After the testimony period, Department representatives will once again be available to answer questions on an individual, informal basis. We invite and encourage all interested persons to attend this Public Hearing to review and discuss this important transportation improvement project.

In addition to being available at the Public Hearing, the environmental documents and conceptual design plans developed by the Department will be available for public review at the following locations and times from January 4, 2006 through February 6, 2006: FDOT District Four Office City of Pembroke Pines City Hall, Lobby 3400 West Commercial Boulevard 10100 Pines Boulevard Fort Lauderdale, Florida Pembroke Pines, Florida Monday through Friday Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Florida OBITUARIES Arlette Gruss, 75, circus director THE ASSOCIATED PRESS PARIS Arlette Gruss, an animal trainer who went on to run her own traveling circus, died Monday. She was 75. Mrs. Gruss died of cancer at her home in FontaineSaint-Martin, in the Sarthe region of western France, said Dominique Texier, tour director of the troupe. Born into a circus family, Mrs.

Gruss was a wellknown animal trainer especially panthers who retired from the ring in 1984 to found a touring troupe that bears her name. "We all admired the incredible courage and presence of this panther trainer whose love of animals was as strong as her passion for the circus arts and their constant renewal," French Culture Minister Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres said. One of Mrs. Gruss' three children, Gilbert, will take over the troupe. Mrs.

Gruss, a knight in France's prestigious Legion of Honor, will be honored in a ceremony Friday. BROWARD COUNTY Allen Allen, Ida Mae, 86, of Miramar, died Sunday. Hebert Hebert, Rita J. (Pare), 82, of Coral Springs died at home on January 1, 2006. She was predeceased by her husband, Woodrow Hebert, in 1999 after 51 years of marriage. A beloved mother of four children, she is survived by her son, Gary Hebert of Miami, daughters Darlene Mannix of Pembroke FL; Pines, FL, Gail Hebert of Fairfield, CA and Diane Broadie of Rome, GA, as well as six grandchildren, Kristin and Jennifer Hebert of Pembroke Pines, FL, Sean Mannix currently with the US Army stationed in Kansas City, Mannix of Hollywood, FL, and Keith Ryan Hebert and Joshua Broadie of Rome, GA.
