Today's Answer I am writing this for those of you who DO NOT play Negative Doubles.

If you do employ this powerful convention as part of your bidding system, you will have no difficulty with the Southern hand. You will merely double and your side will either, play hearts making two or three, or 3H down one, or you will set 3S a trick. Any of those scores will net you a solid match-point result. If you do not use Negative Doubles, this hand will make you regret it. You will be forced to pass.

West will bid 2S and E-W will play it there for plus 1 10 and a very bad match-point score for N-S. For those intrepid souls who would bid anything else with the garbage in the South hand, I can only say, God help you. How I Rate The Bids Dbl (Negative) 10 Others 0 North's hand was: S.J92 H.
