Brasfield, District 8: no candidate qualified District 9: Clay B. Anderson, Main reason you're running for the office: I want to do something positive in building a department that the people of Hardeman County can respect. Also, I was approached by numerous groups of people from all walks of life wanting me to seek this office. They are wanting someone to restore honesty and integrity to the sheriff's department.

These people are confident that I can and will take a 21st Century approach in doing this. Three main goals for the office you seek: 1. Hire, train and supervise deputy sheriffs to patrol county roads, investigate crimes and protect crime scenes in an effective manner; 2. Work to rid the county of illegal drugs; 3. Provide good, fair and impartial law enforcement for all, regardless of race, religious or ethnic background.

Three issues facing constituency that you will address: 1. Concern for the growing problem of illegal drugs in all areas of the communities; 2. Provide the citizens with a professional department and a trained staff they can feel confident with in serving their needs. Personnel that will be sensitive to the public's needs; 3. Homeland security, neighborhood watch programs, litter on county roads, community meetings and good, fair and impartial law enforcement for all citizens.
