Black caucus supports Jackson GATLINBURG (AP) Several of the state's black legislative caucus members had praise for presidential contender Sen. Albert Gore Jr.

Calvin Harris McKENZIE Services for Calvin L. Harris, 62, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Enon Baptist Church, Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Harris, a security guard for Bethel College, died Thursday afternoon at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

He was married to Viva Fowler Harris. They had nine children, Mary Lynn Harrison of Peoria, 111., Linda Howe of Nashville, Dorothy Chandler, Ernestine Bunyard, Leon Fowler and Linda Arnold, all of McKenzie, Alvis Fowler of Wentzville, Vernice Fowler of Stergeon, and Billy Joe Fowler of Okinawa, Japan. Later In life he was united with the late Mrs. Carrie Lee Crutchfield Hill also of Jackson, Tennessee. He leaves to cherish his memories, three daughters, Mrs. Allene Beard of Nashville, Mrs. Johnetta Glenn of Jackson and Mrs.

Carolyn Lamon of Beloit, two sons, Mr. Roy A. Hill of Jackson and Mr. Barry Hill of Nashville, six step-children, Mr. Donald E.HIII of Greenfield, Mr.

These arrests and court depositions were reported: Ronald Wayne West. 22, and Steve Duke, 18, both of 52 Sadler Trailer Park, were charged with aggravated assault with a rifle at Sadler Trailer Park at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Paula Pope, Beverly West and Carla Duke, all occupants of trailer 37, reported someone shot through the top of their trailer. James Flowers, 46, no address listed, was charged with aggravated assault with a knife on Thomas Copley at the Handi Pack, 500 E. Main at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Copley said he broke up a fight between Flowers and another man when Flowers pulled an open pocketknife on him. City Court Judge Walter Drake set Flowers' bond at $500.

William Phelps and Mrs. Emma Phelps, was born on February 22, 1961 In Henderson, Tennessee, where she graduated from the Chester County High School In 1979. At an early age, she was added to the Lucyville Church of Christ and remained a member until death. She was blessed by being united to a loving husband, Mr. Dennis Calvin Meadows, Sr.

on July 3, 1982 and to this union one son, Dennis Calvin Meadows, was born. She leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted husband, Mr. Dennis Calvin Meadows, her precious son, Dennis Calvin Meadows, her loving and caring parents, Mr. William and Mrs. Emma Phelps, two sisters, Ms.
