NOTICE OF TAX INCREASE TOWN OF NORTH CARROLLTON The Town of North Carrollton will hold a public hearing on its proposed budget for fiscal year ending September 30, 2017 on September 6, 2016 6:00 p.m. at the North Carrollton Town Hall. At this meeting, a proposed ad valorem tax revenue increase in the proposed budget will be considered. The Town of North Carrollton is now operating with projected total budget revenue of $505,180. 11.2 percent or $56,000 of such revenue is obtained through ad valorem taxes.

For next fiscal year, the proposed budget has total projected revenue of $517,800. Of that amount, 11.4 percent or $59,000, is proposed to be financed through a total ad valorem tax levy. This increase in ad valorem tax revenue means that you will pay more in ad valorem taxes on your home, automobile tag, utilities, business fixtures and equipment and rental real property. Any citizen of the Town of North Carrollton is invited to attend this public hearing on the proposed ad valorem tax revenue increase in the budget and will be allowed to speak for a reasonable amount of time and offer tangible evidence before any vote is taken. A millage rate of 33 mills will produce the same amount of revenue from ad valorem taxes as was collected in the prior year.

The millage rate for the prior year was 33 mills. August 1, 2016 1:24 PM Page 1.
