Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann has announced that the Mississippi Official and Statistical Register known as the "Blue Book" for the State of Mississippi for 2016-2020 will be available in April. The "Blue Book" is published every four years by the Secretary of State's office. It is a good source of knowledge in many aspects of this state, from towns, counties, and state government. Over 100 years ago, first and Statistical was published by the Mississippi Department of Archives and History. It is interesting to note, in that edition was a picture of the New Capitol Building, completed just the year before.

The Secretary of State began publishing the in the in 1931, it featured on its cover an airplane rarely seen by our citizens in those days and inside was a recommendation from Secretary of State Walker Wood that the driveway to the Capitol should be paved. These editions are of historical significance in providing a snap shot in time of our state with the towns and counties that make it up. In government news, Beat 5 Supervisor Rickie Corley reported that the Carroll County Board of Supervisors will meet Monday for their last regular meeting for the month of March. The meeting will be held at the Carroll County Courthouse in Carrollton at 9 a.m. Also Supervisor Corley said on Monday, April 3, will be the first regular board meeting for the month of April.

The meeting will be held at the Carroll County Courthouse in Vaiden at 9 a.m. Supervisor Corley is the president, and Beat 4 Supervisor Claude Fluker is the vice president. Also the Mayor and Board of Aldermen for the Town of North Carrollton will have their regular monthly meeting for the month of April on Tuesday, April 4 at 6 p.m. at City Hall. In other news, the Evergreen Cemetery Board here in North Carrollton will be removing worn out-of-season flowers from the cemetery soon.

It is asked to see that any such arrangements of your family that you wish to rescue are promptly removed. It is appreciated for helping keep Evergreen Cemetery a place of beauty in our community. In church news, Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Black Hawk will have a seventh- anniversary celebration for their pastor, the Rev.
