Smith and Sons with Rev. Norman Culpepper officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens. Mr. Dudley died Friday at his residence after a sudden illness.

A native of Henderson County, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lee Anderson Dudley and had made his home in Jackson since 1921. He was a Cabinet Maker; a member of Knights of Phythias and a member of the Carpenters Local 259 for more than 50 years; and a member of St. Andrew United Methodist fhurrh.

Jessie A. Brown Services for Jessie A. Brown, 82, will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday from Clover Creek Baptist Church in Medon. George A.

Smith and Sons, in charge. Burial will follow in the Clover Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Brown, a retired farmer, died Saturday at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. He was a life-long resident of Medon, son of the late William Archie and Eva Almira Howell Brown.

He was a member of Clover Creek Baptist Church and the Adult Men's Sunday School Class. He leaves two sons, Parnelle Brown and Reverend Jessie L. Brown both of Jackson and one daughter, lone Wilson of Medon; 4 sisters, Dee Brown, Lavenia Brown and Irene Maroney all of Bemis and Nannie Pirtle of Memphis; seven grandchildren, Rev. Allen Brown, Teresa Brown, Rickey Wilson, Brian Wilson, Mary Flynn, Marsha Long and Margaret Brown; and 8 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the South Chapel of George A.

Mrs. Hagar, widow of Paul H. Hagar, died Friday at Jackson Madison County General Hospital after a 1 12 year illness. A native of Shelbyville, TN, she was the daughter of the late John and Beatrice Wells Ortner, and had lived in Nashville and Dresden before moving to Jackson and year ago. She attended the Lebanon Church of Christ.

She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Diane lay and two grandchildren, Cory Lay and Cheryl Lay, all of Jackson. The family will recieve friends from the Main Street Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. George A.

Barber hangs up scissors to end '80s From IB Waiting amid a crowd of people was one of the nice features of an "old fashioned" barber shop, said Car-ruth. "It's an enjoyable place to be. Half the fun is waiting around and talking," he said. "You can find out what's going on and have companionship." East began barbering when he was about 20, cutting the hair of neighbors and friends.

He graduated from the Memphis Barber College and formally set up shop in Bells in 1936. "I felt like I was gifted at this. And at 20, jobs were hard to find," said East. A native of Milan, he was the son of the late D. T. and Anna Barnhill and had lived in Memphis most of his life. He had made his home in Jackson for the past 6 years. He was a member of McLemore Christian Church in Memphis and attended Calvary Baptist Church since living in Jackson.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Christine Smith Barnhill of Jackson; two step-sons, Bill Simth and Ronald Smith both of Jackson and five sisters, Mrs. Joe Scruggs and Mrs. Faye Kersh both of Memphis and Mrs. Jack Christie, Mrs.
