"It's a tradition for Court of Appeals judges to sit until a replacement is appointed," the Berlin native said.

"I've been working for nothing since the first of October, but I will continue to sit as long as they need me." Cathell officially retired from his 18-year post on the Court of Appeals bench in July when he reached the mandatory retirement age of 70.
