Dr. Watklns, Sanitary Inspector, called on the Mayor yesterday with reference the matter. It waa found that the omission, occurred because formerly the sanitary officers had not beeiu carrjed on any of the eillce rolls, being selected by the Board of ealth. Sot the Mayor claims the apooint-ing power. Five of the old force were reappointed on the Mayor's list to tbe Council.
