Only five of the nine runs allowed by Byrd were earned. Jackson outhit the winners 11 to 9, running its hit total in the past seven games to 74. Although he was touched for 11 hits, Chuck Francis gave up but tour earned runs and came within one out of pitching a complete game. Big stickers for Paducah were Frank DeMichele with three singles and, two runs batted in and Joe Concotta with a double, triple and ringle in four trips to the plate.

Paducah jumped off to a 3-0 lead in the first inning but Jackson had tied the score at the end of the third inning only to see the Chiefs pull away in the fourth to a 7-4 margin.
