BREAK-IN. Cambridge police are investigating a break-in at a house in the 900 block of Central Avenue. Police said a television, NEWARK, N.J. (AP) Two men linked to a huge cache of child pornography in New Jersey and Maryland enticed boys in Spain to engage in explicit sexual conduct and filmed them, prosecutors charged Tuesday. The movies and videotapes, made in the Spanish cities of Valencia and Puzol from fall 1987 through November 1994, were taken to New Jersey, copied and distributed, according to a 33-count indictment handed up by a federal grand jury here.

Eugene Leithiser, of Bantam, sent money to Thomas McGuire in Spain to fund the operation, according to the indictment against the two. In 1991 and 1992, McGuire obtained copies of videos featuring Japanese boys engaging in sex acts which he copied and sent to Leithiser, the indictment said. The two are accused of being part of a kid porn ring that gave boys in Maryland drugs and money to perform sex acts in front of cameras and with some ring members from December 1991 to August 1993, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Laura Kaplan, who is prosecuting the cases. Authorities said at least 10 different Maryland boys were victimized.

The boys used in the filming were picked up at a Dun-dalk, roller skating rink. Leithiser, who is in his 70s, is to surrender at his arraignment Jan. 26 before U.S. District Judge Joseph E. Irenas in Camden, N.J.

McGuire, 50, who lives in Puzol, was arrested in Spain on related charges Nov. 28, 1994, and held for about a year, but is free, Kaplan said. His case has yet to come to trial, and he cannot be extradited on the U.S. charges because he faces similar charges in Spain and the treaty between the two nations does not permit such transfers. McGuire, a U.S.

citizen, could be arrested if he returns to the U.S. or goes to another country where the extradition treaty would allow U.S. prosecutors to compel his return, Kaplan said. Both are charged with conspiracy, interstate transportation of child pornography, and receiving, distributing and reproduction of child pornography. McGuire also is charged with sexually exploiting children.

Prosecutors are seeking to gain possession of Leithiser's property and home in Connecticut, as well as kid porn found May 5 in a storage locker. The collection in Morris, included hundreds of photographs of nude boys and a magazine called Nudist Moppets showing boys in sex acts, according to the indictment. Six men pleaded guilty to child pornography charges in 1994 after federal prosecutors discovered what they called the largest cache of child pornography in the country in a Linden-wold, N. storage locker. 1 LOTTERIES videocassette recorder and food valued at $495 were reported stolen Saturday.
