Part of the Civil Air Patrols mission is to teach aerospace education and promote aviation among area youths.

Certified flight instructors took the time to provide lessons and orientation flights for the local cadets to train them to even-tually fly the glider and also obtain a pilots license Each cadet that joins the Civil Air, Patrol is given five powered orientation flights and several glider orientation flights.
