the southern islands of the Philippines and when General Jonathan Wainwright was forced to 'issue his orders to surrender to all components under his command the Colonel was taken prisoner by the Japs An interesting and enlightening talk was given by the colonel of his experience while a prisoner After his capture he was reported transferred to a prison in Manila where he was placed in the same group of prisoners with General Wainwright From Manila they were transferred to Formosa Japan and Manchuria Following the colonel's talk Capt ijtf-slie McCarthy gave the history Pof the quartermaster corps from the Revolutionary period up to the present and presented the aims and objectives of the Quartermaster association jAt the business meeting that followed the following officers were elected
