Six Pharos-Tribune, Logansport, Indiana College Corner The Hopewell North Presbyterian church was the scene Sunday afternoon, October 8, of an impressive 2:30 o'clock wedding ceremony which united Miss Phyllis Marie Cohee and Darrell D. Pufahl in marriage. The bride is the daughter of -Mr. and Mrs. Allen Cohee, rural 1, Camden.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Pufahl, Royal Center. The Reverend Dallas Landrum performed the double ring ceremony before an altar banked with palms and fall-colored bouquets. A white carpet ascended to the altar.

The family pews were marked with large white satin bows. Myra Johnson, organist, accompanied Kay Shriver, soloist, who sang the traditional bridal aires. Karen Seward attended the bride as maid of honor with Barbara Johnson, Christina Forgey and Carolyn Binkley as bridesmaids. Bobbi Lou Binkley served as flower girl. Jack Rhody served the groom as best man and D.

R. Hoffman, Daryl Seward and Bill Cohee were ushers. Charles and Mike Pufahl attended their brother as candlelighters. Mark Cohee was the ring bearer. Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride was lovely in a gown of Chantilly lace and tulle over taffeta.

The molded bodice of lace was highlighted by a scalloped Sabrina neckline. The lace scallops were appliqued with ir- ridescent sequins. Her long lace sleeves tapered -to bridal points over her hands. The bouffant, floor-length skirt formed tiers of scallops of the matching lace. A double scalloped Swedish crown of lace appliqued with irridescent sequins, pearls and crystals, held VFW JUNIOR BAND The VFW Junior Band of Post 3790 was selected by the Department to lead the parade at thi State Soldier's Home in Lafayetti recently.

Attending from' the local posT, and auxiliary were: Mr. and Mrs Isadore Davis, Mr. and Mrs. David Bair, Mr. and Mrs.

Harold Poff, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Roach, Lillian Webster, Weimer, Dorothea Mo.refiead, lona Nicoll and Ed Burkett. Representing the Youth Units were Linda 'and Peggy Roach. VFW drill team-Ronnie, Bim and Pete Roach.

Don Hayworth, director, was also present. Refreshments were served after which a tour of the hospital made. ast a bouffant imported pure silk ulle veil. She carried an orchid surrounded by one dozen white roses and stephanotis. The maid of honor appeared in in apricot sheath dress accented by a melon tunic.

The dress fea- ured a round neckline and three- quarter sleeves. She wore a crown of the matching tunic color, which secured 'a nose-length veil. She carried a crescent bouquet of funi mums surrounded by pompons in an apricot shade. The other bridal attendants' dresses were the same'style'as of the maid of honor's with dresses of melon and tunics of he apricot. They carried the same ouquets.

For her daughter's wedding, Mrs. Cohee selected a teal blue silk jacket dress with navy blue and white accessories. Her attire was accented by a corsage of white and yellow pompons. The groom's mother chose, a beige Brocaded with beige and brown accessories. She wore a corsage of autumn shaded pompons.

A reception for 175 guests was leld following 'the ceremony at church. Kay Sadler registered the guests as they entered. Hostesses were: Delores Pufahl, Karen Patterson, Rose Ann O'Connor and Janet Berry. Taking care of the gifts were: Helen Rozzi, Mary Binkley, Mary Cohee, Darlene McKinney, Vicki Rozzi, Jeanette Rozzi and Donna Rozzi. The bridal table was covered in white satin with an overlay of apricot tulle on either end was a of apricot and melon satin bows accented with vari- gated mums.

Centering the table was a four tier wedding cake frosted in white with varigated roses and sugar bells edged in Double wedding rings with bridal couple, topped the cake. Apricot punch, mints and- nuts were served by the hostesses assisted by-Mrs. Otis Brown. The gift table was covered in white satin. For a trip to the south, the bride departed in a gray wool suit with black accessories which was highlighted by the orchid "corsage taken from her bridal bouquet.

The bride is a 1958 graduate of the Deer Creek high school and was a former employe of the Logansport Machine company. Her husband is a 1958 graduate of the Royal Center high school and is a junior at Wabash College. The couple will reside at 600 West Pike street, Crawfordsville. DR.O.L.BRAUN Reg. Deer Creek HD Club Installs Officers Deer Creek HD club No. 1 installed its new officers at a meeting held at the Young America school. Bess Smith and Nora Wilson conducted the installation for the following officers: Mrs. Wilma Stafford, president; Ernestine McCloskey, first vice-president; -Mildred Snider, 'second vice-president; Emily Chambers, secretary; and Mary Densmore, treasurer. Stella Fouts gave the history of the song of the month and led in singing accompanied by Bess Smith.

Roll call was answered by 19 members and three guests, Reverend Harry Rea of Miami, Florida, gave the devotions. A lesson on "indoor flower gardening" was given by Stella Fouts and Mildred Snider. A report on the Achievement Day was given by Ernestine McCloskey. Nora Wilson received the door prize after which refreshments were served by the out-going officers. will be featured at the Thanksgiving meeting to be held at the home of Geneva Lgsserly.

Mrs. Reba Briggs and Ethel Young will present the 'lesson. Canasta was conducted with prizes going to. ESthel Young and Luella Bowyef. Read the Want Ads! Honor Grand Ruth At Carroll OES Carron chapter 475, OES, held a regular meeting recently at the Masonic hall with Esta Carter in charge.

Mildred Otterman of Frankfort, Grand Ruth of the Indiana Grand chapter, was escorted to the East and introduced and welcomed. Alice Linn, local chapter Ruth, was escorted to the East and then escorted the Grand Ruth to the altar. Mary Lou Johnson sang a son'g to the past Ruths. Those honored were: Nora Wagoner, Mary Alice-'Caldwell, Carolyn Edging, Mildred Parrett and Alice Linn. Refreshments were served with a fall motif.

Those' in charge were: Ruth Berkshire, Blanche Benner, Elizabeth Sullivan, Iva Wentzel, Eythel Benner and An- rienne McCain. Estal Mullen and his wife were presented from the chapter in honor of their wedding anniversary. All members are asked to. take donations of canned fruit, jams, jellies or other items, for the Masonic home, to the November meeting. Friend's night will also be conducted at that time.

Treasurer, Charlene Davis, told that the 1962 paid membership had reached 260 and Ann Hayworth, membership chairman announced a new quota for the October 24 meeting. An all out effort will be made by the squad so that a may be obtained by Fall Conference in mid November.

Petitions for membership were read for Angeline lannelly and Vera Strong. Group initiation will be held in the Post Home October 24 at 8 p.m. Bernard Cabiness was reported being in the West 10th VA Hospital in Indianapolis and Louise Crispen, Janet Leydet and Al Murphy are still patients in hospitals. Appointed as hospital chairman was Judith Biddle and Edith Cooper co-chairman. Second district senior president, Lillian Webster; announced that members of the local auxiliary would conduct the floor work as school of instructions at the next district meeting in Rensselaer, October 29.

Presentation of distinguished guests of National, Department and District will be the main objective. Penny Supper and Hobo Party Staged By Neighborly HD Mrs. Estil Carter entertained 18 members and three guests of the Neighborly HD club at her home recently with a Penny supper and Hobo party. Following the hobo's arrival a ham dinner was served. The guests were Mrs. Susan Hiley, Mrs.

Anna Belle Butts and Mrs. Virginia Scott. Mrs. Harold Abbott was co-hostess. Following the dinner, Mrs.

Glen Saltsgiver, president, presided at the business meeting which was opened with the pledges and Club Creed. (UPD--A bid for a new trial for convicted wife poisoner Warren Byrd, 36, New Castle, on grounds the trial judge failed to sign the docket entry showing Byrd's conviction, was rejected Saturday. Judge Wesley Ratliff died two weeks ago after presiding at the trial in Henry Circuit Court at which Byrd was sentenced to life imprisonment in the poison death of his second wife, Lois, last June.
