1 A6 Sunday, September 21, 1997 THE DAILY TIMES Salisbury, Md. James Otha Gunter SALISBURY Gunter, son of Gunter and Gunter, on Sept. 18, 1997, after a short illness, departed this life on Earth from heart failure for a better one with God. He was 72. He was born Feb.

25, 1925, in James Otha the, late Ernest Nina Harmon James Otha Gunter Exmore. He was educated in the Northampton County school system. Gunter was employed by Bailey Cleaners for many years. He retired from the Wicomico County school system in May 1988. He attended several neighborhood churches.

He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph James Gunter; two brothers, Walter Richardson and Major Richardson; and five sisters, Martha Sample, Nina Gunter, Sara Gunter, Lily Gunter and Olivia Gunter. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 46 years, Faith Constance Gunter; two daughters, Toni Gunter Clark and Faith Summers; a son, Gregory Eugene Gunter; two sons-in-law, Roy Clark and Melvin Summers; two daughters-in- law, Gilda Gunter of Salisbury and Olivia Gunter of Lanham, 12 grandchildren, Michelle Gunter, Joseph Gunter Anthony Gunter, Kelly Gunter, Charlettia Gunter, Kelly Trader, Roy Clark Bryan Clark, Rochelle Gunter, Stacy Gunter, Dyron Gunter and Darnell Gunter; four great-grandchildren, Marcus, Eric Trader Jr. and Darian Trader; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at St.

James AME Zion Church in Salisbury, where the Rev. Charles H. Mack is pastor. Interment will follow in Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Beulah. Arrangements are being handied by Bennie Smith Funeral Home in Salisbury.

Richard W. Wilkerson MARDELA SPRINGS Richard W. "Dicky" Wilkerson, 64, of here died Friday, Sept. 19, 1997, at his residence. Born in Salisbury, he was the son of the late Corry E.

Wilkinson and Sarah Anne Wilkinson. Richard W. A U.S. Wilkerson Army and Air Force veteran of World War II, he was a selfemployed car salesman. He was a member of American Legion Post 64 and the East Side Men's Club.

He is survived by his wife, Mary June Calloway of Mardela Springs; a son and daughter-inlaw, Kenneth "Speedy" Wilkerson and Erma 1 D. Wilkerson of Mardela Springs; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sheree Timmons and Wade F. Timmons of Hebron, Veronica Jane Lewis and Robert A. Lewis of Salisbury, and Nancy Smith and Bill Smith of Millsboro; a daughter, Sarah Wilkerson of Salisbury; a brother, Carroll Bruce Wilkinson of Fruitland; eight grandchildren with a ninth expected in December; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m.

at Holloway Funeral Home on Snow Hill Road in Salisbury. The Rev. Howard Travers will officiate. Interment will follow in Springhill Memory Garden near Hebron. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 10:30 to 11 a.m.

Audrey May Wimbrow Phillips, 110, of here died Saturday, Sept. 20, 1997, at Berlin Nursing Home of heart failure. Born near Berlin, she was the daughter of the late R. Stansbury Wimbrow and Martha Ellen Godfrey Wimbrow. She was also the wife of the late James Richard Phillips Jr.

She was an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Berlin, belonging to the Alter Guild, Industrial Guild and Episcopal Church Women. She was a member of Col. Levin Winder Daughters of the American Revolution and the Pitch Club. An avid Orioles fan, she and her late husband made a gift of land for Stephen Decatur Park in Berlin.

She is survived by two sons and their spouses, Edward P. Phillips Sr. and Margaret Gunby Phillips, and William P. Phillips and Polly Insley Phillips, all of Berlin; a son-in-law, Frederick W. Brueckmann; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Berlin. The Rev. Graham T.

Rowley will officiate. Interment will follow in the Phillips' Family Plot in East New Market. She is survived by a sister, Beatrice Webster of Deal Island; a sister-in-law, Sara Kelly of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m.

Travatello SALISBURY James. Lynch "Jim" Travatello, 45, of here died Saturday, Sept. 20, 1997, at his residence of liver cancer. Born in Seaford, he was a son of Philip Travatello and the late Carmina Thomas Travatello. -A devoted husband and father, he 1 was employed at Dresser Industries for 19 years and held the position of human resources manager.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Denise N. Travatello of Salisbury; a daughter, Jennifer Travatello, who is a student at' St. Mary's College; a son, Adam Travatello of Salisbury; a brother, Philip Travatello Jr. of Delaware; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Monday at 7:30 p.m.

Correction Grace Elizabeth "Lisa" Parkinson Hubbard was employed at Coldwater Seafood Corp. in Cambridge. Her deceased paternal grandmother was Elizabeth Jones Parkinson. Hubbard's obituary ran in Saturday's edition of The Daily Times. Incorrect information was supplied to the paper.
