Last week, I was fishing in 70-degree temperatures and Wednesday morning, I awoke to 21 degrees. Kind of makes me want to hibernate.

Last week, I was bragging about the fall we were having, but I think I'll pass on that this week. Wednesday's high came at 11 a.m. With the increasing cloud cover, Wednesday afternoon was sort of dreary, especially with the possibility of light snow or freezing rain in the forecast for this morning. Baxlel Her husband, Robert J. died Sept, 30, 1996. I Childs was a member of First Baptist Church in Salisbury. She was formerly employed by Dulaney Foods in Fruitland. She is survived by one son, Charles Childs of Allen; two daughters, Margaret Childs of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Wilhelmina Johnson of Philadelphia; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandehil-dren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A daughter, Gertrude Green, is deceased. A funeral service will be held Saturday at ll a.m. at First Baptist Church of Salisbury on 1 nl 36 I charged in 1994. He was employed by the Pepsi Cola Bottling Co. in Salisbury.

He was a past member of the Galestown Ruritan Club, and a member of American Legion Dor-Wic Post 218 in Sharptown and the Sharptown Volunteer Fire Company. In addition to his parents, he is survived by three brothers, Aron Trice, Tony Arena and Kyle Arena, all of Riverton; his paternal grandmother, Sarah Trice of Blades; his maternal grandparents, William and Lucille Massey of his maternal great-grandmother, Martha Fields of Salisbury; his stepmother, Lee Ann Trice of Blades; and his fiancee, Jennifer Harrison of Sharptown. Friends may call at the Sharp-town Firemen's Memorial Building in Sharptown Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Memorial Building. Interment will follow in the Riverton Cemetery in Riverton. The Rev. J.

Harvey Dixon, chaplain of the Wicomico County Firemen's Association, will officiate and Pierce Damewood, chaplain for the Maryland State Firemen's Association and the Rev. Lin-wood "Sonny" Benton, chaplain of the Maryland State Police, will assist. Idoni was the former owner and operator of Nick Idoni's House of Ribs on Coastal High- way in Ocean City. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two daughters, Melissa Idoni and Julia Idoni. Another daughter, Tonia Idoni, is deceased. Other survivors include, six sisters, Anne Idoni, Donna Marie Idoni, Regina Kurak, Darlene Idoni, Donna Michele Waters and Nicola Beaver; six brothers, Michael Idoni, William Idoni, Thomas Idoni, Mark Idoni, Domenico Idoni and Giovanni Idoni; and many nieces and nephews. 10, 1996 of injuries he received while assisting i. Deborah Dickerson of Piano, Texas, and Evelyn R. Dickerson, of Snow Hill; and many other family members and friends. Mason attended Fork Union Military Academy, graduated from Snow Hill High School in 1976 and from the American Motorcycle and Marine Institute in Daytona Beach, Fla. He'was a former owner of Delmarva Air Machinery and currently employed by Hughes Fidelity in Easton.

He was a past member of the Newark Volunteer Fire Company and had served on the board of directors of Home Bank, He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Newark, American Bonanza Society, National Rifle Association and Ducks Unlimited. His family' said he was a devoted father, son, brother and friend. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting. He was an avid pilot and motorcyclist. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m.

Friday in Trinity United Methodist Church in Newark. A private family viewing will be held at Dennis Funeral Home on Franklin Street in Snow Hill tonight from 6 to 7 and friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Trinity Garden of Memories in Newark. 11, 1996, at the home of his devoted companion, Sharon Powell. Born in Cameron, S.C, he was a son of Annie Noble of Washington and the late Johnnie James. He was employed with Bob Farmer Construction for a number of years. Other survivors include five brothers, Solomon Noble, Isaac Noble, James Noble, Simon Noble, and Matthew Noble; four Louise Minder, Elise Brown, Sarah Glover and Blohdell.Niles, all of Washington; and several nieces' and nephews. A daughter, Stephanie James, died in 1981.

R. Hurlbert, PBS founder BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) Raymond Hurlbert, who helped establish the nation's first public broadcasting network, died of cancer Monday. He was 94. In 1953, after years as president of the Alabama Education Association, Hurlbert was appointed by Gov.

Gordon Persons to secure federal approval and legislative funding for public broadcasting stations and programming centers. His Alabama Network became a model for other systems, and Hurlburt later helped persuade Congress to pass the Public Broadcasting Act, in 1967. Jack Evans, NHL coach HARTFORD, Conn. He was 68. Evans coached the Whalers from 1983-87, leading the team to first place in the Adams division in 1987.

He broke into the NHL as a strong-skating defenseman for the Rangers in New York, where he played from 1948 to 1958. He also played for the Chicago Blackhawks from 1958 to 1963 and was a member of Chicago's last Stanley Cup championship team. His coaching career included a stint with the California Seals in the 1975-76 season, and he was the last coach of the Cleveland Barons in 1976-77. Max G. Marple, editor WELLESLEY, Mass.

(AP) -Max G. Marple, editor of The Wellesley Townsman, died Saturday. He was 82. Marple worked briefly for The Associated Press in Boston.
