Wednesday Evening, June 2, 1937 LOGANSPORT PHAROS-TRIBUNE PAGE I Hidden Gun Is Used to Commit Act -Officer Slain While Attempting to Arrest Man "H'ho Had Escaped State Penitentiary GALLUP, N. E. Rowe, El Paso, Department of Justice Agent, was shot to death here late Tuesday as he attempted to arrest an escaped convict. The escaped prisoner, Guy Osborne of Fort Sm.ith, shot Rowe at the home ot Osborne's brother, John Wesley Osborne, Chief Police Kelsey Presley, who "witnessed the shooting, said. Osborne, Presley said, secured a hidden gun on a pretext of getting clothes from a bedroom in his brother's home.

He fired as Rowe followed him into the room. Osborne fled on foot through broken country adjoining the house. Sheriff Dee Roberts formed a posse immediately to search for the escaped convict. Rowe, 30, died en route to a hospital. Osborne, who is 24, was wanted on a Dyer Act charge and as an escaped convict from the Fort Smith, penitentiary.

Hoosier Is Injured in Chicago Accident CHICAGO--Thirteen street car passengers were shaken and bruised and Roy McCaw, 34, Evansville, truck driver, received possible internal injuries and a fractured leg Tuesday when the street car crashed into the side of McCaw's truck.

The first two banks were placed under the state department of financial institutions in February, 1934, and the Idaville bank in August, 1933.

Parole Is Revoked; Another Gets Chance PERU, June 2 Bldon Henry, 23, of Wabash, and John Miller. 17, of near New Waverlj were arraigned in city court on charges of attempting to cash several bogus checks at local filling stations.

Henry, who 'was on parole, was turned over to Wabash authorities. His parole was revoked and he will serve on the original charge. Huntington Plane Crash Takes Life of 9 Yi FORT WAYNE, June 2-(UP)--John Edward Bush, S. died in the Huntington county hospital last night of injuries he suffered in an airplane accident also to his father, Edward R.
