D. C. Hutchison, coming Sunday from Clear Lake, where she and her husband had attended Governor's days. Mrs Hutchison entertained a group of women at lunch in her honor Monday at the Algona hotel, and there have been other social courtesies. The Hickenloopers and Hutchisons became close friends when the senator and were practicing lawyers at Cedar Rapids.

Nancy Hutchison called her parents, Mr and Mrs D. Hutchison, Tuesday evening from New Yoik City, where she arrived Monday on the liner United States in its speedy return from France. She spent a few days with friends in New York, but is now in Chicago, and will fly Sunday to Mason City, where her parents will meet her. She will be home till early September, when she will accompany her sister Joan to Tucson and look for employment there. Nancy and college friends made a European tour Twenty Algona women spent Tuesday at a biennial district meeting of the Lutheran Women's Mission League in a three-day session at a Walther camp at the Okobojis.

Delegates there for the whole convention were Mesdames Louie Lenz and Firman Chris- toffcrs Mrs Loren Brown was organibt for the entire session, and the- Algona circuit was in charge of registration and banquet arrangements; also the Al- gonians made the banquet decorations and gave several skits during the lunch hour Tuesday, one being an apron style show. All remained for the Tuesday evening banquet at which plates were laid for 468. The speaker was Dr Bcrtcrman, who heads the Lutheran hour broadcast every Sunday. Mr. and Mrs.

Ed Anderson, of Huinboldt, entertained Sunday at a picnic dinner in honor of the son Bruce, home on leave from the Marines. The daughter Betty, surgical nurse at the Iowa Methodist hospital, Des Moines, was also at home. Algonians in attendance wore Mr. and Mrs. J.

Wyatt Walker, Ottumwa, brother and sister-in-law of Mrs. J. M. Patterson; and Mr. and Mrs.

August Kerstein and Mr. and Mrs. Henry'Kerstein- of Clinton; visited last Thursday at the Archie Voight home and got acquainted with th-a baby of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Tietz.

The former are great- grandparents of the baby. Raymond Tietz, of Spirit Lake, carne Saturday and took his wife and baby home with him Sunday afternoon Baptism Celebrated Mr. and Mrs. Herb Zumach and family and Mr. and Mrs.

Frank Jergens and family, West Bend, were Sunday guests of Ernest Bernau, of Algona. The occasion was the baptismal dinner pf the B-ernau baby. At State Convention Pete Schumacher and Joe Schiltz left Monday morning for Cedar Rapfds to attend the state convention of the Legion there Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday evening at Rolfe with Mrs. Pedersen, mother of Mrs.

Simonsen. Mrs. Arthur Kohlhaas and daughters, of St. Joe, spent last week at the Joe Loebach Sr. home.

Joan Kohlhaas, a daughter, suffered a broken arm and is now recuperating nicely. Barbara Winkel returned to her parental Harold Winkel home after visiting her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Potratz, Fort Dodge. Mr.

and Mrs. Rusty Vaudt and Verona Zumach visited several points of interest in Wisconsin last week. Mrs. Henry Kuecker and Juliann Maahs visited the former's sister, Mrs. Minnie Krabs, last week.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank-Spilles left on a few weeks tour to Wisconsin and other sight-seeing points. Mr. and Mrs.

Francis Spilles and son are taking care of their parents' home during their tour. The Rev. Father Edward Fandel returned to Sanborn after visiting several days with relatives here. Rosella Voight, of Algona, county treasurer, spent last week on a vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Herman Voight. Alice Menke, of Bancroft, spent a few days with her cousin, Barbara Winkel. Mrs Mary Uhlenhake, of Wesley, mother of John Uhlenhake, spent several days in th-a home of her son and family. Curtis Quinn is again at home after having been in the Fort Dodge hospital several weeks. The Rev.

Father Daniel Lynch returned home Saturday evenmj after a two week vacation to Sioux Falls, S. D. Alice Reding, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Reding, returned to Arnolds Park after a few days at home.

Ida Elbert, of Tucson, came Friday to visit relatives and friends for two weeks. Arjnand Elbert and Louis Kollasch drove to Des Moines for her. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Lewis and family, accompanied by Evelyn Busherfeld, of Fort Dodge, spent the weekend at the parental Tony Busherfeld home.

'Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Zinell and family, of Bloomington, 111., spent several days at the maternal Rose Schumacher home and with other relatives and friends. Janet Meehan, formerly of Mason City, spent several days at the Francis Kollasch home. She returned to Battle Creek, where she will make her home in the future.

Mr and Mrs. Guy Fmley and family and Frank Doyle, Flint, are vacationing at the parental Larry Doyle home. Mary Martin had the misfortune of hurting her arm one day last week, and is carrying it in a sling. Little L. W.

Swanson is pending several days with Grandpa and Grandma Verne Shinn in Mason City. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Keith and son, of Pocahontas, Mr. and Mrs.

Ray Haugen, of Algona, and RIYERDALE4-H GIRLS PREPARE TO VISIT FAIR ST. JOE Achievement Day for the Riverdale Rustlers 4-H girls was held Thursday at the home of Carol Wagner. Roll call was on articles made this year, and was answered by 14 members and the leader. Five mothers also attended. Mrs.

Wayne Keith was judge of the clothing selected to go to the fair. The record books were also finished and handed in- Phyllis Schoby was selected as good groomed girl to represent Riverdale at the county fair. At the close of the meemg games and conests were held.
