Deaths of the Riegel of 522 10th Bethlehem, will be tomorrow at the convenience of the family in the Ashton Funeral Home, Center and Market streets, Bethlehem, with calling hours from p.m. today. Miss Riegel, who died day in St. Luke's Hospital, was a graduate of Bethlehem High School and West Chester State College in 1931.

She was a teacher with public Allentown and Bethlehem. Of Legion Post Set for Tomorrow Riegel Services John Whitby, Services for Charlotte Mae Ex-Commander 20, 1967 Day John Whitby, 75, died yester. at the home of his niece, Mrs. Gwennie Edmonds, 117 N. 3rd Allentown, with whom he resided.

Born in Fullerton, he was a son of the late Philip and Isabel(Haddock) Whitby. He was a retired boilermaker with the Heilman Boiler Works. Allentown. He was a past commander of the Fullerton American Legion Post 367. He was a charter member of the Fullerton Fire! Co.

He was an Army veteran World War I. He moved to Allentown from Fullerton four years ago. Surviving are a stepson, Robalert Ernst of Fullerton, and sister Mrs. Sarah Ann Campbell of Gentry, Ark. wEervices, will be at 1:30 p.m.

Joseph Marx Mrs. Jennie (Keppel) Marx, 71, of 1121 Oak Coplay, died yesterday in Allentown Hospital. She was the wife Joseph Marx. Born in Austria, she was daughter of the late George and Julianna (Schmidt) Keppel. She immigrated to the United States in 1912 settling in Coplay.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church of Stiles. Surviving besides her husband are three daughters, Mary wife of Frank Voice, Anna, wife of Frederick Brubacher and Hilda, all of Coplay; three sons, Rudolph Northampton, of Allentown and Frank of Whittier, two sisters, Hedwig, wife of Stefan Liebl of Allentown and Mrs. Julia Pohle of Tallahassee, and 12 grandchildren. Services will be at 9:30 a.m.

Thursday, in the Robert A. Hauke Funeral Home, 4th and Chestnut streets, Coplay. Requiem High Mass will be at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church.

Lydia (Roth) Edwards, 80, of Slatington R. 2, died yesterday in the Northampton Hospital. She moved four weeks ago from East Branch Street, Slatedale. Born in Slatedale, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Fianna (Rehrig) Roth. was the wife of John W.

Edwards. She was a member of Salem Evangelical United Brethren Church, Slatedale. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Mrs. Florence Bennighoff of Schnecksville and Hilda, wife Paul Hausman of Slatington R. a son Charles of Slatedale, five sisters, Eva, wife of Morris Schleicher of Slatington R.

Gertrude Cellers, and Margaret, wife of Charles Thomas, all of Allentown; Dorothy Southworth of Philadelphia and Mildred, wife of Stanley Smith, with whom he made his home; three brothers, Arthur of Bath, N.Y., and William and Stephen, both of Allentown; a sister, Mrs. Priscilla Swoyer of Allentown; 25 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and three great-greatgrandchildren. Wednesday. Mrs. Jeannette Gipson, Wife of Ex-Professor Mrs. Jeannette Gipson, 825 Delaware Fountain Hill, wife of Lawrence H. Gipson, research professor emeritus of history at Lehigh University, died yesterday in Muhlenberg Medical Center, Bethlehem.

She was 81. Born in Neal, she was a daughter of the late David A. nd Lucy E. (Dungan) Reed. She attended Morningside lege, Sioux City, Iowa, and the Art Institute of Chicago.

In 1924. Dr. and Mrs. Gipson Gipson moved to Bethlehem, of when the De: ernment partment of History and University. Govat Lehigh Mrs.

Gipson assisted her husband in gathering materials for his series of books on the British empire. One of the volumes, "'The Triumphant Empire, West," clouds Pulitzer Prize in Gather 1962. Vincent Getz, 26, Nazareth Resident Vincent Getz, 26, of 118 Elm Nazareth, died yesterday in his home. Joseph F. Reichel, Northampton County Coroner, ordered an autopsy to be performed today in St.

1, died yesterday at the Greenmount Acres, Effort, where she had been a patient the last two weeks. She was 56. She was born in Moore Township. Northampton County. She resided nearly all her life in the house where she was born.

Her parents were the late Amandus O. and Mary (Heydt) Reph. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Little Moore, Danielsville R. 1. Besides her husband, survived by one son, shows ard at home.

Another Priest Quits in Protest Over Celibacy WOLVERHAMPTON, England (AP)-Another Roman Catholic priest in Britain has given up holy orders in protest against the rule of celibacy for the priesthood-but he has no plans to marry.

The decision by the Rev. Malcolm Tudor, 30, was disclosed Sunday after the Rev. Arnold McMahon, 27, announced last week he would marry despite the automatic excommunication which he would face. Tudor, former assistant priest at St. Michael's church here, was granted permission to leave the priesthood by the Archbishop of Birmingham.

A member of the auxiliary archbishop's staff here said: "Father Tudor is a very thoughtful man who has considered and discussed the question of celibacy and the priesthood a great deal. He made the decision to leave the priesthood solely on a matter of principle. He has no plans to marry, nor is he engaged." Mary Justine Czerkas, wife of John Czerkas, 1515 Dewey Northampton, died at 3:10 a.m. yesterday in the Allentown Hospital. She was 69. She was born in Schyly, Ukraine, a daughter of the late Paul and Tekla (Hudema) Gwiazda. She came to the United States 54 years ago and settled in Northampton.

She was a member and one of the founders of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Northampton, and was active in the Sisterhood of the church for many years. She and her husband observed their 52nd wedding anniversary on Jan. 23. Surviving, besides her husband, are two daughters, Anna, wife of Michael Metchoe, Mary, wife of Joseph Nazar, both Northampton, three sisters, Mrs. Mary Kosty, Mineola, N.Y.; Olga Chechoto Malanka Brodecha, and one brother, Joseph, all in Europe, and three grandchildren.

Vietnam War Veteran Killed SCRANTON, (UPI) A Vietnam War veteran was crushed to death Sunday by a 500 pound slab of ice which dislodged from a hillside and fell on him.

Donald Duncan, 20, Scranton, was pronounced dead at Scranton State General Hospital. An autopsy was scheduled to determine the cause of death. Duncan, recently returned Vietnam and on leave from Ft. Belvoir, was hiking with a companion in a wooded area when the accident occurred, police said. Authorities theorized Duncan was hacking away at the ice while climbing a hill, and the ice crashed down on him.

The companion, who told police he did not see the ice fall, heard Duncan scream and to a house to call police. Former Bethlehem Coach John Conti Dies at 62 A. C. Masters, Life Member Of Grange, 92 A. Charles Masters, 92, of Wescosville R.

She was the former Bertha Hatrick, daughter of the late William and Gwendalyn (Powell) Hatrick of Jim Thorpe. She was a member of Episcopal Church, Stroudsburg. Surviving are a daughter Barbara, wife of Thomas Garland of West Hills, with whom she resided, and three grandchildren.

Moyer of 231 Madison Allentown, long active in Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, Allentown, died yesterday in Allentown Hospital. He was 85. Over a period of more than 50 years, he had been a church trustee and also chief steward and usher. He had been employed by the former Dietrich Motor lentown, 30 years before retiring at 65. Until he was was employed as a maintenance man at the Lehigh County Courthouse.

Born in Allentown, he was son of the late Lesher A. and Susanna (DeLong) Moyer. Surviving with his widow, Anna E. (Moyer) Moyer, are a son, Arthur L. Moyer of bany, two daughters, Barbara, wife of George Christman, and Elsie, wife of Robert Naus, all of Allentown; a sister, Mrs.

Conti, a former Bethlehem basketball and football coach, died last night in his home at 404 W. Broad Bethlehem, after an illness of several months, He was 62. Since 1932 he had been a coach in the Bethlehem public school system. Recently, ill health forced him to resign as basketball coach at Broughal Junior High School and as assistant football coach at Liber. ty High School.

In 1928, he became a teacher and football coach at Bethlehem Catholic High School. Born in Maggora, Italy, he was a son of the late Joseph and Antoinette (Magistrini) Conti. He was raised in Latrobe, Westmoreland County, where he attended St. Vincent's College. He graduated with a B.S.

degree from Villanova University in 1927. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Bethlehem. Surviving are his widow, the former Lucy Castiello; two sons, John J. Jr. of Bethlehem, and 1st Lt.

Edward P. of the U.S. Marine Corps; two daughters, Lucy, at home, and Mrs. Wilbur Laub of Bowie, a brother, Charles of Bethlehem, and four grandchildren. Services will be announced from the Connell Funeral Home, 245 E.

Broad Bethlehem. JOHN J. CONTI 4th Body Found In Blast-Ruined Chemical Plant HAWTHORNE, N.J. (AP) A fourth body was recovered Sunday from the ruins of a chemical plant, and the search continued for seven more persons presumed buried under the wreckage of Friday's explosion. Police identified the fourth known victim as George Rosner, 52, of Englewood, N.J., a senior food chemist who joined the plant just two weeks ago.
