HURLEY'S BRIDGETON has been the means of a balanced diet in many families which otherwise would have gone without the minerals produced only in green vegetables. Last year it was the plan of the Emergency Relief that surplus produce from farms be purchased at market value and a cannery operated with relief help, that the canned vegetables might be distributed to relief clients during the winter months.

This program was defeated because of demands of the unemployed that they be paid wages in excess of those established by the NRA instead of the proposed rate of 10 cents an hour in cash and 40 cents an hour in food orders, the prevalent rate of ERA pay at that time. List Prize Winners The list of Cumberland County prize winners follows: Bridgeton, Paul G. Springer; Millville, James Limerick, Edwaru Gessler; rural Millville, William Green; Vineland, Cosimo DeLuca; Shiloh, Charles V.
