Miss Hollis complimented the members on the beautiful Christmas decorations, commended them on their achievements and the attainment of equalization in membership. She also explained how important it a the continued support of all clubs in membership, the attendance at district meetings and the attendance at state conventions. She stressed the need for support at the state convention in May, 1962, when District XII will be host, and was counting on the members of the California Club for (heir support in duties assigned.

She explained that each member has a definite responsibility to be at the state convention and she was depend- Girl Scout Troop 99 Participates In Mexican Holiday Program Recently Girl Scouts Troop 99, composed of Junior High Students from North Union and Ben Franklin Scliools, participated in a program, Mexican Holiday. The group meets in Fairground School each Tuesday under the leadership of Mrs. Jeanne Eisler. Recently the Brownie Troop was invited to be guests at the troop's celebration of the posados, or pageants. In Mexico, posados are held for nine conseeutivi nights preceding Christmas.

The Scouts gave their version of the celebration by singing carols participating in a candleligh procession by carrying figures Mary and Joseph, wearing Mex ican hats which they made. They also exhibited arts and crafts, basketry, pottery, leathe goods and pictures articles loaned by Mrs. Vi Vaientich Pittsburgh formerly of New Mexico. Mexican games were played and refreshments served. Tne Scouts now are working on key and coin purses of lealh er to be given as gifts.

The lunch committee included Doroies Kaukonen. Dora Savage. Ruth L'nderwood. Adelia Birkensha and Kathryn Christmas carols enjoyed, with Mary Grace Battaglia as the leader.
