H. W. Fitting officiating. Interment will be in the Quakertown Union cemetery. Mrs.

Katherine Fero Palmerton Woman Succumbs to Heart Attack Mrs. Katherine Fero, wife of Steph Monroe apartments Stroudsburg. The Rev, J. Ross Stonesiter oi strouasDurg and Dr. John McComb of New York City will officiate.

Interment will be in the Stroudsburg cemetery. injury forced his retirement about 22 years ago. On his 92 birthday Mr. Weiss explained to a reporter a visit to a New York Yankee game several years ago converted him into an ardent Yankee newspapers and over the radio. He was accustomed to reading newspapers and the Bible daily without the aid of glasses.

He was a member of Vienna lodge, 847, IOOF, and the Sons of Union Veterans. He also belonged to Seibert Evangelical Congregational church. Besides Mrs. Krum, two other daughters, Mrs. Thomas Willenbech-er and Mrs.

Wilbur Schaeffer, both ol Allentown; six grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren also survive. A twin brother, George Weiss, died about 15 years ago, and a grandson, Frederick Willenbecher, former business manager of the Chronicle and News, predeceased him. His wife, the former Amanda A. Reeser, died in 1911. Airs.

Caskie Well Known Slatebelt Resident Passes Away One of Slatington's most prominent citizens, Joseph B. Caskie, better known to residents of the Slate Belt as Joe Fleet, died early Saturday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Hartman, E. Church Slatington.

Mary Sherbin died Saturday morning at her home, 518 E. Bertsch Lansford, following an illness of ten days. A native of Lansford she was a parishioner of St. Michael's Catholic church, Lansford, and several affiliated societies. Surviving are her husband George; two sons, George and John; her mother, Mrs.

Mary Ochran, E. Bertsch Lansford; three sisters, Mrs. Louis Kadlec, Philadelphia; Mrs. Michael Franko, New York; Mrs. William Walton, Lansford.

and one brother, Michael, Lansford. ney) Caskie, he lived his entire life in that region. For many years he was employed in the Samuel Caskie Slate quarry, Slatington, an enterprise owned by his uncle. For the past 40 years he has been employed with Samuel B. Caskie, a brother, in the manufacture of vaults.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian church, Slatington. Mr. Caskie is survived by a son, Casell Q. Caskie, Allentown, and by the following brothers and sisters: Samuel, Slatington; George, McKees-port; Mrs. Elizabeth Leibenguth, Palmerton; Mrs.

George Smith, Wilkes -Barre, and Mrs. Peter N. Snyder. Slatington. Four grandchildren also survive.

Thomas Phillips 36-year-old Lehighton R. 3 Resident Native of Slatington Thomas Phillips, husband of Pearl, nee Haydt, passed away at his home, Indian HU1, Lehighton R. 3, shortly after 1 p. m. yesterday, following a brief illness.

Dr. Roger Rupp, Lehighton, was summoned but death occurred before hi sarrival. Harry L. Doll, Carbon county coroner, issued a deah certificate. He wa saged 36.

A native of Slatington, he was born Aug. 12, 1903, a son of the late David and Mary, nee Thomas, Phillips. He leaves his wife and five children, Llewelyn, Marie, Mary Jane, David and Marlene at home. Eight brothers and sisters also survive. They are Hugh Jones, Lancaster; Robert Jones, Bangor; Mrs.

Elizabeth Haffner, Farmington: David Phillips, Slatington; Mrs. Henry Zellner, Slatington; Theodore and Edward Phillips, Allentown, and Wesley Jones, Allentown. Services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p. D.S.T., from the Clarence T. Hartwig funeral home, 1002 Main Slatington.

Interment will be made in Fairview cemetery, Slatington. Mrs. Anzeline Cortazzo her home, 334 Avenue Palmerton. Although she had been in poor health for some tune, her death was sudden, the result of a heart attack. She was 58 years old.

Mrs. Fero is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Zeza Majerzik of Palmerton and Mrs. Rose Papp of the Bronx, New York. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic church, Palmerton.

Funeral services will be held from her late home Wednesday at 9 a. m. daylight saving time Requiem mass will follow in the Sacred Heart church at 9:30 a. m. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart cemetery.

Mrs. Hannah Meile Walnutport Woman, 75, Was Invalid Last 10 Years Mrs. Hannah A. Meile, an invalid for the last 10 years, died shortly after noon Sunday at her home, 15 Cherry Walnutport. was 75.

The widow of Carl Meile, she was a native of Lehigh county, and was born Oct. 9, 1864, the daughter of James and Catherine, nee Handwerk, Levan. She leaves the following children: Mrs. Elizabeth Conklin, at home; Mrs. Catherine Stewart, Allentown; Mrs.

Milton Walnutport R. 2, and George Meile, at home. There also survive 16 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Clara Hoffman of Slatington R. 1, and Mrs.

David Shellhamer of Allentown. Rev. Harvey Kratz, pastor of the Mennonite church of Walnutport, where she was a member, will officiate at funeral services to be held at her late home on Wednesday at 3:30 p. m. (DST) .) Interment will be made in Union cemetery, Slatington.

Mrs. Lea Knappenberger Mother of 14 Children Dies at Sister's Home in Laurytown Mrs. Lea Knappenberger, 80-year-old mother of 14 children, died at 12.15 p. m. yesterday at the district home in Laurytown following several years of illness.

The former Lea Hoffner, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Philip Hoffner and was born in Effort. Perm Forest township. She was preceded in death 23 years ago by her husband, James.

She resided in Christmans, Penn Forest township, the greater part of her life. She was a parishioner of Christ Lutheran church, Penn Forest. Surviving are the following children: Frank, Bowmanstown; James, Long Run; George, Lehighton R. Chester, Freemansburg; Nathan, Mauch Chunk; William, East Mauch Chunk; Richard, Clinton, and Harvey, Christmans; Mrs. Harry Snyder, Easton, and Mrs.

Reuben Heydt, East Mauch Chunk. Two brothers and two sisters, Frank Hoffner, Bethlehem; George Hoffner, Effort: Mrs. Elizabeth Braul, Nanticoke, and Mrs. Ida Hardy, Ashfield, 46 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren, also survive. Anna M.

Wyckoff Native of Tamaqua Succumbs at Member of L.O.O.M., 62, Dies at Home of His Daughter Louis Wilson, 62, died late Friday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edward Leal, 657 Walnut Easton. He was a member of Easton Lodge, No. 45, L.O.O.M. He is survived by his widow and daughter; two brothers, Frank, Port Murray, N.

and Walter, Bushkill Park; two sisters. Mrs. Earl Halpin, Easton. and Mrs. William Crader.

Detroit, and two grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday from the Johnson Funeral home, Wilson borough. Burial will be made in the Hay cemetery.

Years Old Sarah Louisa, nee Meisamer, wife of Louis F. Clauss, died at 9 a. m. Saturday at her nome at Clamtown, following an illness of two years, the last eight months which she was bedfast. She was 67.

Mrs. Clauss was a native of West Penn township, Schuylkill county, and was the daughter of the late Francis and Polly, nee Britton. Meisamer She was a member of the West Penn Evangelical church. In addition to her husband, she leaves one son by a previous marriage, Howard Willman of Bowmanstown, three brothers, George Meisamer of Tamaqua, Charles Meisamer, Kutz-town, and Elias Meisamer, Philadelphia; one sister, Soura, wife of the late Joseph Schaeffer, Andreas, and two grandchildren. Services will be held on Monday at 1:30 p.m..

Interment will be made in the Lutheran cemetery at Bowmanstown. Home in Lansford Mrs. Kathryn Israel, widow of Harry Israel died at 9.45 a. m. yesterday at her home, 118 E.

Front Lansford, following an illness of several months. Born in Tamaqua, she spent most of her life in Lansford. She was a parishioner of Trinity Lutheran church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Dames of Malta, Lansford. Surviving are three sons, George Nutley, N. Robert Dayton, and Harry, Lansford; two daughters.

Interment will be made in the Odd Fellows' cemetery, Tamaqua. 4 in Former Effort Shoemaker Dies GLADTS LIPSCHUTZ Jewish Community Center in Allentown. Forty pupils of the school will participate in the show, which will include displays of all types of dancing. Highlights of the performance will be new and intricate routines of tap dancing, ballet, toe, acrobatic, musical comedy, and interpretive forms.

An Innovation this season is a dance group of six young women, headed by Frieda Rosenberg, assistant to Miss Lipschultz. This group, students of the modern technique, will perform two Interesting dance numbers as well as a demonstration of fundamentals. Miss Lipschutz, who appeared as the "Persian Dancer" in the recent Peach Blossom Festival at the Allentown Fair Grounds, will appear as soloist in the recital. Philadelphia Hospital Mrs. Eva nee Hahn, Ritter, 58, wife of Henry S.

Ritter, 631 Gordon died Saturday morning at the Oncologic hospital, Philadelphia. Born in Bushkili, Northampton county, Mrs. Ritter was the daughter of Alfred and Elizabeth, nee Moyer, Hahn. She was a member of the Ladies of the Golden Eagle and St. Paul's Lutheran church.

Surviving are two sons, Claude Missmer and Theodore Missmer, both of Allentown; one daughter, Pearl Endy, Allentown, and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Trexler funeral home, 116 S. 8th St. Interment in Moorestown cemetery.

Friends may call Tuesday from 7 to 9 p. m. Dr. G. A.

Greiss will officiate. Ambrose A. Bechtel West Bangor Woman, 66, Was Native of Italy Mrs. Angeline Cortazzo. 66, wife of Amiello Cortazzo, of West Bangor, died Saturday night in the Easton hospital.

She was admitted to the hospital for medical treatment three weeks ago. Mrs. Cortazzo came to this country from Italy 34 years ago and was the last surviving member of her family. She was a member of St. Joseph's Episcopal church.

Besides her husband, a daughter, Minnie, at home, survive. The funeral will take place at 10 a. Wednesday, from her late home, with brief services there followed by further services in St. John's church. Burial will be made in the cemetery adjoining.

Saturday at the Sacred Heart hospital. He was the widower of Eliza, nee Kresge, Koch. Koch was born in Carbon county the son of Joseph and Vernette Koch.

He was a shoemaker by trade, having had a shop in ESort, near Saylorsburg for 50 years, but the past two years he had been living at 22 N. 2nd Coplay. He was of the Lutheran faith. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Al-vin Reppert, Bath, one son.

Frank Koch, Coplay, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and a step-brother, Nathan Serfass, Bradford county. Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p. D.S.T., at the Schisler funeral home, 21119 Washington Northampton. Interment will be made in the Allen-Union ce-netery. Rev, A.

She was a daughter of the late Jacob L. and Emmaline E. Wyckoff and was a native of Stroudsburg. She Owen 0. Parry Pen Argyl Man, 64, Collapses While Mowing Lawn Owen O.

Parry of 440 W. Pennsylvania Pen Argyl, died suddenly at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at his home. He was 64. Mr.

Parry who has not had good health for some time was mowing the lawn in his yard when he collapsed and died. Mr. Parry was born in Chapman Quarries, son of the late Owen and Emma Jacket Parry. He is survived by his wife, Jennie Meyers Parry; the following children, Hilda M. at home; Mrs.

Charles Campbell of Bloomsburg, and Owen R. of Mount Pocono, and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Meyer Straus of Philadelphia; Mrs. Joseph Hambleton. Hartford, Mrs.

Margaret Sullivan, Pen Argyl: Mrs. Clark Williams. Pen Argyl, and Hugh Parry of Hartford. Conn. He was a resident of Pen Argyl for the last 60 years and employed as a locomotive fireman of the Lehigh and Kibler Point Philips Man Dies In St.

Luke's at Age of 68 Ambrose A. Bechtel. 68, Bethlehem R. 1, Point Phillips, died Saturday at the St. Lukes hospital.

He had been there for three weeks. Bechtel was a son of the late David and Mary, nee Simmons, Bechtel. He was born May 12, 1872. In his early years he was a photographer but be had not been working for many years. Surviving are a son, A.

Clair Bechtel, Morristown, N. a daughter, Mrs. Ernest Markle, Bethlehem, and two grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Benjamin Moyer of Cleveland, also survives.

Private funeral services will be held at the Ernest B. Zimmerman Funeral home, 1124 Walnut Allentown, Wednesday at 2 p.m. with interment in Hellertown. Deaths Former Railroader, Resident of Lehighton, Was 87 Henry G. Kreitz.

87, died at his home, 416 N. 2nd Lehighton, Friday. His wife preceded him in death four years ago. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and a parishioner of Zion Reformed church, Lehighton. Surviving are two sons, John and K.M-fc!.

Hartwie Funeral home, 1002 Main Perkasie Barber and Taxidermist Was 63 Years Old John Scheetz, Perkasie barber and taxidermist, died yesterday afternoon at his home, 618 Juniper Qua leer town, after being ill since September. He would have been 64 years old next month. Although he was a resident of Quakertown, for the past 12 years he conducted a barber shop in Perkasie. At the shop and at his home he also conducted a taxidermy shop and was known throughout a wide territory for the skill with which he practiced that art. He had a large private collection of '-f-'ts and small animals.

Born in Quakertori, he was a son of Edward and Margaret, nee Harr, Scheetz. He lived in that community practically all of his life and was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Retired Walnut port Farmer Dies While Visiting at Home fo Son George Kibler, retired farmer of Walnutport, died of a heart condition shortly before midnight. Saturday, at the home of his son, Wallace Kibler, Slatington R. 2, whom he had been visiting.

At Walnutport, Mr. Gibler lived with a daughter, Mrs. Stella Fritzin-ger, 212 Main St. He was in his 87th year. Dr.

E. L. Sowden of Slatedale, deputy coroner, conducted an investigation. The son of Hurich and Susanna Kibler, he was born in Northampton county on Aug. 8.

1853. During his entire life he resided in and about Walnutport. His wife, Sarah, nee Schoenberger, precered him in death. In addition to Stella and Walter, he leaves one New England railroad. He was a faithful member of the Bethany Evangelical church, the Albright brotherhood of the church, the I.O.O.F., Pen Argyl, the Foresters of America, Pen Argyl, and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and Engineers.

D. S. T. Interment will be made in Pair-view cemetery, Indianland. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited without further notice.
