Hubs Entertain Westminster 77' North Hagerstown will try to halt a four-game losing streak tonight when the Hubs host Westminster in a Tri-State League game. The Hubs, still plagued by Inexperience, have improved steadily, although the end result has generally been the same. North lost to undefeated Fort Hill, 27-0, two weeks -ago, and last week lost, 27-12 to unbeaten Thomas Johnson. Westminster is not undefeated, as North's two previous foes have been. Westminster's record is 3-3 and just 1-2 in the Tri-State League.

The Hubs are 1-2 in the TSL. The Owls knocked off Waynesboro, 20-7, last week. Fullback John Taylor leads the Owls in rushing and scoring. Middle guard Ted Daigle, who Westminster coach Jim Head calls his "best lineman in a long, time," anchors the defense. being outscored 114-46 in six games, North has had few highlights.

Quarterback Mike Hideout began to move the Hubs last week with the option rollout. Last year, Westminster and North Hagerstown shared the TSL championship with 5-1 records. THOMAS JOHNSON (4-0, 3-0) AT MARTINSBURG 0-3): This game doesn't stack up as being one of the Tri-State League classics. TJ is riding high on Doug Cochran's 741 yards passing and 12 touchdown passes. Tight end Don Ziebell caught seven passes for 91 yards last week, and is a formidable player on defense as well.

Bobby Robinson, and Steve Wilkinson are qualify linemen on defense and offensive tackle Blane Thomas springs running backs Roy Strain and Bob Dahlgren. I (4-2, 2-1) AT AU.EGANY (4-2, 2-1): This, Cumberland Valley Athletic League game determines who will challenge first place Fort Hill for the title, Frederick's only league defeat came against Fort Hill, 19-0, early in the season. Allegany lost to South Hagerstown, 14-0. The Cadets, in winning their last four games, have shown a fine offensive balance with Mike Randolph passing and Rod Bowie rushing. CARD02A AT (3-4): The Cougars must rebound from last week's 41-0 trouncing at the hands of.

Loucloun County. Running backs Anthony Allen and Robert Twyman are swift, but the Jefferson defense has had some miserable games. Last week it yielded 321 yards rushing. A (2-4, 2-1) AT I (3-4, 1-3): Musselman hasn't won a game in nearly a month, but a victory tonight would shove the Applemen into third place in the Bi-State League. The Eagles have lost their last three, all league contests.

I A (0-5-1, 0-2) AT I (2-4, 0-2): Both teams are trying to avoid the Monocacy Valley League cellar. Brunswick has been shutout in its last two games. Linganore has recorded six points in its last two outings. Navy Hosts Air Force; Terrapins Away Again By; THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Maryland college football teams, steadily improving their rccqrd against outside competition, have a chance to pull even 'for the 1973 season by the time Saturdays full card of 10 games is completed. 'Maryland, although its quarterback situation is in a state of flux, is rated a 20-potnt favorite for its game at Wake Forest. Other road games include Morgan State at Delaware State, Johns Hopkins at Fordham, and Western Maryland at Washington Lee.

Fort Hill turned the tab'les on North Hagerstown to snare the team championship with 31 points. North, not up to par physically, totaled 35 points. North edged Fort Hill, 32-36, last year to win the CVAL title. Itcnisburg led throughout the 2.8 mile course and registered a time of 15:04.8, erasing his own course mark.

He beat his closest compclitoi Matt Cline of Fort Hill by econds. It was the closest race for Remsburg thus far. Hemsburg is now 7-0 on the season and has set six course records. "I kept telling Cline that he could beat said Fort Hill coach Bob Harbaugh. "But, 1 didn really expect him (Cline) to win." Remsburg finished second to Fort Hill's Dave Rhinpharl in last year's meet.

"Cline is no Rhineharl," commented Har bnugh. "And, Remsburg gave! Hhineharl some good races' last year." Fort Hill also snared the third, fifth and ninth spots. North Hagerstown a runners in the fourth, sixth, seventh, eighth and tenth positions. North's total may have been lower had its number three runner Ted Schoek been healthy. Ned Pot- fenberger.

who took eighth may have placed higher if he had been completely healthy, according to North coach Pal Messina. "Schoek hurt his ankle lasl week," said Messina, decided to hold him out. I figured the Tri-State League meet would be tougher." "I didn't think we'd need him today," continued thi North coach, whose Hubs have never finished lower than fourth in the state meet Messina started coaching thi Hubs in 1968. "If we healthy, I think we'll win the district added Messina. Bob Waters led the North runners by taking fourth in 15:58.

Waters was just six seconds behind Fort Hill's Gary McGregor and 19 seconds off Cline's time. Larry Hall was a distant fifth, followed by three Hub harriers, Jay Stouffer, Keith Tagg and Poffenberger. Fort Hill's Dick Huff placed ninth and North's Bill Abdullah rounded out the top ten. South Hagerstown, which took third with 73 points, grabbed the 14th and 16th spots. Fourth place Frederick (116 points) was led by llth place finisher Ron Saytor.
