I the Wednesday Moiiilnjr, March 90, 1843. Philadelphia Saturday Courier. litil number of this well-established and sterling newspaper, published weekly by MoMukln nil llolden, being the commcneement of a new volume, is really splendid specimen of improved taste in literary publication.

Tbe sheet la immensely enlarged and what with the fine white paper, the new and large type, and the tasteful embellishments, its appearance is truly beautiful. Its contents are in keeping with Its appearance, and would do credit to any of the boasted periodicals of the day. Thia truly mammoth paper can be had for one year for $2 D'Aubig-ne's Hi-torjr of the Reformation. (jWe have received five numbers ot this valuable work, being the monthly numbers from January to May, inclusive, of the Select Library of Religious Literature, published by James M.Campbell, of Philadelphia. Price fifteen cents a number, or $1 80 cents a year.

The History of the Reformation, which is completed in these numbers, is one of the most deeply interesting works we have ever read. The ever-varying scenes of that eventful pel iod pass before the eye in the most vivid manner, and the characters ot Luther and the other leading Reformers, as well as the ohampions of the church of Rome, are depicted witli a force that imparts to them the reality anil beauty of the most masterly paintings. A book so good and cheap ought to be in the hands of every family. It may be had at Kneeiller Hunter's in Main street where also may be had Allison's History of Europe, and other cheap works. Sir- Durbin's Letters.

(Another, and we think the most interesting letter that has yet appeared from Professor Diirdix, will be found on the first page of to-day's paper. It is addressed to Dr. Slwall, of Washington City, a son of whom is making the tour of the Continent and the East in company with Mr. Duhbin. We copy the letter from the National Intelligencer.

It treats particularly of the Religious condition of Europe, with a brief examination of the frame-work and policy of the English and French governments and the condition and prospects of their people, to which is added an interesting notice of Ireland and her people. The comments of Mr. Dluhin upon the people and policy of the countries lie has visited, though necessarily brief to come within the narrow limits of a letter, demonstrate the closeness of his observations upon the character of the governments of the old world, and the keenness of his scrutiny into the moving causes of their p'dicy. It will be seen that he gives it as his opinion that Papal power is rapidly regaining what was wrested from it by the Reformation, and that certain steps toward an alliance made by Louis Phillipe, indicate that the day is not far distant when even England and France may be adiied to the number of Kingdom-subjects to the power of Rome! The letter will be found replete with information and instruction, and is commended to attentive perusal. Battlo of Waterloo.
