Future plans include the addition of 10 new classrooms at Bearden which houses about 700 youngsters to accommodate students from Sumner Elementary and Black Bayou Elementary at Glendora, which the school district has discussed closing for cost and other considerations. Barnes said Black Bayou, which bouses 200 students in grades K-6, is a tremendous expense to operate. "It would be a situation where we could save tons of money to close the school," he noted. Taylor is the daughter of Ella M. Richardson of Glendora.

She is a 1995 graduate of Charleston High School. Cox completes training Air Force Airman Karen M. Cox has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. During the six weeks of training, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization and customs and received special training in human relations. Cox is the daughter of the Rev.
