COURTHOUSE NEWS Suspect in Murder Case Submits to Blood Test COURT HOUSE-A sample of blood was taken from Maurice Talley, of Reading, who is being held at the county prison on a charge of murder. Pres. Judge James J. Curran made absolute the motion of Dist. Atty.

Richard B. Russell who sought to take a blood sample from Talley to determine his blood type and to aid in completing the investigation of the Commonwealth's case. The sample was taken by Dr. R. Joseph Holochuck, co-counsel for Talley. Also present were Detective Elwood Krause, of Reading, who brought the murder charge against Talley; Frank Evans, chief county detective and Mrs. Mary Sninski, technician for the hospital. Judge Curran granted the motion with the understanding that none of the defendant's rights are waived as making objections to the use of the blood samples as evidence at the time of his trial. Also his counsel was granted permission to raise the issue of admissability of the blood tests in its motions to supress evidence.

Talley is being held for the murder of Patricia M. Sholley, of Reading, who disappeared on Dec. 26, 1967, and whose body was found by state police on Jan. 12, near Summit Station in Schuylkill County. Dist.
