(AP) The investigation into the slaying of a Franklin College student has yielded promising leads but still no suspects, the police chief said Friday. Chief Harry Furrer dispatched officers on an intensive weekend search of the remote area near the Brown County town of Helmsburg where the body of Kelly Eckart was discovered Tuesday.

"We've got answers to find and this is a massive effort. We're at full speed," Furrer said. "We know time is of the essence. We're on something that we're 'We've got answers to find and this is a massive effort' Harry Furrer, Franklin police chief going to follow up as fast as we can," he said. Officers on horseback and in four-wheel-drive vehicles will search the Helmsburg area and other parts of Brown County, Furrer said.

Helmsburg is about miles northwest of Nashville and about 20 miles from Franklin. The police chief said he hoped the "large volume of leads coming in" will lead to a suspect in the slaying. Eckart disappeared Friday night while on her way home from work at the Franklin Wal-Mart. Her car was found along a road in Franklin with the keys inside. Authorities have not revealed how the woman died.
