Hugh Carey, would raise about 110 million an-nually to be used by the state for cleanup work at abandoned hazardous waste dumps where officials are unable to find the company or indi.

vldual responsible for the dump. Also on Saturday: HOSPITALS The Assembly gave final legislative approval to a bill which, if the federal government approves, could mean an extra $400 million an. nually for some of New York's financially troubled hospitals. The measure would tend to equalize pay mfcnts to hospitals from all sources Including group medical Insurance, Medicaid. Medicare and uninsured individuals and would have them all paying into a fund to help hospitals cover "bad debt" and charity cases.

Because the plan includes Medicare, the state must get a special waiver from the fodcr. al government to go ahead with the program. Carey has been sent bill by the Assembly which would allow honorably discharged veterans of the Vietnam War to take courses in the State University and City Uni-versity systems without paying tuition if they are otherwise qualified to attend the schools. The measure, which will also provide free tu-ition at the state's community colleges for the Vietnam veterans, carries an appropriation of $2,5 million to cover the costs to the universities.

Casino vote tabled Gannett News Service ALBANY An attempt to revive the casino gambling issue in the State Legislature failed late Friday for lack of votes. Because three senators were missing, Sen. John B. Daly, a Niagara Falls Republican who was trying to light a fire under the cold casino issue, laid aside a constitutional amendment to allow casinos in his home town, plus Sullivan and Ulster Counties and the Rockaway beaches of Queens. Daly's bill would allow private businesses to establish casinos in the three areas.

As a constitutional amendment, it would require passage by this year's Legislature and the one elected to serve in 1983-84 before it could go on the ballot as a referendum. on Microwave oven with temperature probe Xrr f' t. 23319 Unassembled 1 i w.i am i ii i. 29995 Reg. $399.95 on L.P.
