She died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at her residence.

Mrs. Hutson was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Hutson; two sons, Jimmy Wayne Morgan James Morgan; a daughter, Brenda Gail Hutson; parents, Harvey LiAVXJ KathrynJ. Waites Hattiesburg Kathryn J. Waites, 92, of Hattiesburg, died January 9, 2013 at Magnolia Place in Sumrall.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg from 12:30 3 p.m. with services immediately following. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Waites was a faithful member of the Gideon International Auxiliary and following her husband's death took up his mission by placing Bibles at local hospitals and offices.

She and her husband owned Waites Super Market in Hattiesburg for over 30 years and since its closure, she and her family have owned and managed Ed Waites Properties, LLC. She was 89, of Sumrall died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Covington County Hospital in Collins. Services will be Friday, January 11, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Hickory Grove Baptist Church followed by burial in Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr.

Miller was a member, deacon and Sunday school director and teacher at Hickory Grove Baptist Church. He served his country in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy on Iwo Jima and Okinawa during WWII, and was a devoted father, husband, and grandfather, among many other wonderful things. He was known for his musical Herschel Breland Perkinston Herschel Breland of Perkinston died January 9, 2013 at Stone County Hospital at the age of 91.

Mr. Breland was born August 6, 1921, in Wiggins, was a member of Sunflower Baptist Church in Perkinston, served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1945, operated Herschel's Gulf in Perkinston for 23 years, worked as a warden for International Paper from 1983-1991 also worked from 1991-2007 for the Forest Service on the senior citizen program. His wife, Edith Faye Coker Breland; son, Michael Breland; a grandson, Brandon; parents, Joe and Amanda Breland; three brothers, Edgar, Sherley and Ford Breland; and a sister, Floy Shaw, preceded him in Bernice M. Banks Collins, MS Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, January 11, 2013 at Pinola Baptist Church for Bernice M. Banks, age 92.

Mrs. Banks passed away from this life on Monday, January 7, 2013 in Petal. Reverend Joel Ever-son and Reverend Glenn McElhaney will 'officiate and interment will be in the Banks Cemetery in Pinola. Wade Funeral Home of Collins is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Johnny Bush, Elijah "Pete' Mcintosh, Val Moore, Norris Moore, Charles Carraway, and Nathan Banks.

Emma Bernice Myers Banks was born on Friday, January 30, 1920 in Tyler, TX, to Arlier Myers and Willie Ruth Norris Myers. She was a retired beautician and a homemaker. Mrs. Banks was a member of Pinola Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband of 50 years, Susan Price Johnson Hattiesburg Susan Price Johnson, 91, of Hattiesburg, died January 8, 2013 at her home.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Main Street Baptist Church, followed by burial in Roseland Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Abington, Jay Loposer, Eddie Gamrnet Andy Gam-mel, Holt Gammel, Garrett Campbell with Randy Gammel and Steven Joseph Johnson serving as honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Johnson was born on January 14, 1921, in Hattiesburg, to the late Mr. R.T.

Price and Mrs. Zoe Price. A lifelong member of Main Street Baptist Church, at her death, she was the oldest continuous member of the church, having joined as a young girl She had been a choir member and was an active member of her Sun from cosmetology school. Gaye is survived by her son, William Hall Barrett Jr. "Bubba" and his wife Sandy; and her daughter, Angela Barrett Allen and her husband David.

She was an adoring "Mammy" to her grandchildren; Kelsey, Jar-ed, Kennedy, Gavin, Walker and Sam. These children were the love of her life and brought her incredible joy. A Memorial Service in celebration of Gaye's life will be held at Grace Covenant Church in Purvis, MS on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Scott Murphy will be officiating.

in her yard was her favorite pastime. She was a long time member of Temple Baptist Church where she volunteered for many years in the infant nursery. She is survived by her children, Dale (Scott) Bel-ham of Gulfport, MS; Debbie (Bill) Phillips of Birmingham, AL; Becky (Jimmy) Richardson of Chattanooga, TN; and Larry (Margaret) McMahan of Hattiesburg. Survivors also include eight grandchildren, Jennifer (David) Delatte, Matthew (Veronica) Wilson, Leigh (David) Johnson, Laura (Ryan) Adams, Ginny Richardson, Sarah Richardson, Andrew McMahan and Harlan McMahan; and two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Johnson and Shepard Wilson. Services will be held Saturday, January 12th at Hu-lett Winstead Funeral home in Hattiesburg.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 am with a service following immediately at 11:30 am. Burial will follow at Roseland Park Cemetery. He was a master at teaching people to communicate in positive ways and to examine their own feelings.

Glen was known as fun-loving and a great storyteller with a gentle spirit and kind words for all. He was a modern-day Renaissance man, able to counsel persons in distress, fix a tractor, licensed to drive an 18-wheel-er, tend a garden, and engage in scholarly discourse. He loved the challenge of a difficult crossword puzzle, reading nonfiction, and learning something new. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Pearl Reeves; his son, Harold Lynn Reeves; and two brothers-in-law, Bob McAli-ster and Dr. Ed Dempsey.

Glen is survived by his wife, Gloria Howell Reeves of Starkville; daughter, Rhea Ann Reeves Pace of Starkville; grandchildren, Michael Pace of Hattiesburg and Chelsea Pace of Starkville; former wife and mother of his children, Carolyn (Richard) Reeves Kazel-skis of Hattiesburg; sisters, Gay McAlister of Wellington Jerry Dempsey of Odessa; brother-in-law, William (Mary Golde) Howell of Jackson, MS; nephew, Billy (Darlene) McAlister; nieces, Parti McAlister (Ken) Williams, Shelley Dempsey Rash, Susan Dempsey (Jay) Hendrix, Melanie Howell Leonard, Shelley Howell Crunk; and four cousins, Cammie James Welch, Monte Hulse, Calvin Elizabeth Burgess and Nancy Burgess. Gaye Barrett Purvis, MS Gaye Lanette Campbell Barrett, 67, former resident of Purvis, MS, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 8, 2013, at Lane Nursing Home in Zachary, IA Gaye was born on March 19, 1945 to Bruce and Gertie Campbell, now deceased. She was one of nine children born to her parents and was very proud to be from a very large and loving family. She graduated from Purvis High School, Class of 1963 and continued on to graduate Virginia Dale McMahan Hattiesburg, MS Virginia Dale McMahan, a long time resident of Hattiesburg, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday the 9th of January at the age of 90.

Born in 1922 in Shannon, Mississippi, Virginia was the fourth child of Norbin Gray and Allie Birdie Dabbs. She graduated from Jones Jr. College and worked as the head payroll clerk at Camp Shelby during World War II. In 1947 she married the late Burnelle B. McMahan.

Together they raised four children. Virginia was a home maker, the bookkeeper for her husband's contracting company, a member of the DAR, and active in the Hattiesburg Garden Club. She had many hobbies, but working Dr. T. Glen Reeves Starkville Dr.

T. Glen Reeves, 72, of Starkville, died on Sunday, December 23, 2012, at Oktibbeha County Hospital. Welch Funeral Home, Starkville, arranged for cremation of his body. A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date. Glen was born August 11, 1940, in Wellington, TX, and grew up in the Shin-nery Community near the Texas-Oklahoma state line.

His parents, William Coker Reeves and Pearl Bulls Reeves, owned and operated a gas station and general merchandise store 12 miles east of Wellington. He graduated from Wellington High School in 1958, having served as president of his senior class and of the Student Council. Glen earned bachelor and master's degrees at West Texas State University in Canyon and a doctorate at East Texas State University in Commerce. Glen was the first doctoral student at ETSU to receive the Truax Scholar Award, given annually to an outstanding doctoral student in Counseling. While pursuing his doctorate, Glen served as Director of Student Financial Aid.

Glen began his teaching career in 1968 at Mississippi State University as Assistant Professor of Counseling and taught there for 30 years, retiring as Professor Emeritus and Clinical Director of file Counseling and School Psychology Laboratory. He was a Licensed Professional Counselor and was appointed by the Governor to the Mississippi Licensure Board for Professional Counselors, serving a three-year term as Chair. Former students attest death. He is survived by three sons, Jerry and Tahnya Breland, Larry and Gloria Breland, Douglas and Charlotte Breland and a daughter, Frances Elaine Rome; five grandchildren, Amy and Paul Armstrong of Calera, Alabama, Jason Breland, Derek and Missy Breland, Meghan Breland and Ryne Breland of Perkinston; three great-grandchildren, Emily, Hannah and Brady Armstrong of Calera, Alabama. Services will be 11:00 a.m.

Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Sunflower Baptist Church with visitation Friday from 6-9 p.m. at the church. Internment will be in Sunflower Cemetery.
