Preceded in death by his loving wife and mother of their three children, Ann Sammons Black; his mother and father, Edith Morcombe Black and Thomas Black; his brother, John Robert Black.

Survived by his three children and their spouses, Thomas Morcombe Black Jr. (Beth), Robert Samuel Black (Kelley) and Ann Marie Black Thompson (David); his six grandchildren, Thomas Morcombe Black III, Elizabeth Clare Black, William Aubrey Black, Jenna Elizabeth Black, Clayton Shay Thompson and Andrew David Thompson. Of all the accomplishments of his life, Mr. Black was most proud of his family and their close relationships among all family members. He was most proud that all three children earned college degrees; both sons from Sewanee; his daughter from Trevecca Nazarene University.

Mr. Black was a lifelong and active Episcopalian having served several times in prior years as senior warden and vestryman at St. Ann's, Nashville and more recently at St. James The Less, Madison, where he was a Communicant until his death. He was a former Vice President of the Episcopal Churchmen of Tennessee.

He was active in civic and community affairs having been a member and former President of the Madison Optimist Club. He emphasized the involvement of Madison area youth in various programs, particularly the annual high school oratorical contest which he chaired for several years in the 1970s and 80s. Mr. Black graduated from Isaac Litton High School, Nashville in 1954. He earned the BA Degree in History from The University of the South (Sewanee) in 1958 and the JD Degree from Van-derbilt University School of Law in 1963.

Mr. Black remained very active with Sewanee through the alumni council and as President of the Nashville Sewanee Club, and most recently as Chairman for Alumni Giving for his class. He and his wife, Ann, took great pride in helping Nashville area prospective students learn about and attending Sewanee. Following graduation from law school and the admission to the practice of law, Mr. Black had a long, distinguished, and successful career: a one year appointment as a law clerk and research assistant to the Tennessee Supreme Court, eight years with the Nashville firm of Gracey, Buck, Maddin, and Cowann972Mihnong MOSS, Michael Alton Came into this world on May 2, 1950 and departed for his heavenly home on September 10, 2005.

He was a published writer for the Denver Voice, sharing his life experiences with unique insight, wisdom and humor -helping others believe there is always hope of a better life. He will always be remembered by his mother, Hazel; sisters, Karen, Trisha and Linda; brothers, Mark and Steve; son, Brian; and the many people whose lives he touched. Celebrate his life at a Memori -al Service 2 p.m., Sunday, June 11, 2006 at Lights Chapel Cemetery in Greenbrier, TN. WHEELBARGER, Bonnie M. Propst Age 71 of Robertson County, died May 31, 2006 following a short struggle with breast cancer.

She was born June 30, 1934 in Augusta County. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Mary Propst. She shared 49 years of wonderful marriage with her husband, Dr. Johnny J. Wheel-barger who survives.

She is also survived by 5 sisters, Linda Cooper, Carol Jones, Ruth Shull, Audrey Nelson, Catherine Shull and one brother, Jess Propst. She grew up in the Mt. Solon, VA area and graduated from North River High School. She received a B.S. Degree from Trevecca Nazarene (College) University.

She taught school in Davidson County, TN for approximately 10 years. Bonnie was a faithful Pastors wife for 35 years in the Nazarene denomination church and most recently, in the United Methodist denomination. Bonnie and her husband raised Tennessee Walking Horses and English Shepard Dogs, which they dearly loved. Bonnie was also very fond of cats and treated them as her children. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Friday, June 2, 2006. Complete notice later. JC HELLUM FUNERAL HOME, (615) 444-4558 WILKES, Evelyn Marie Apple August 27, 1925-May 10, 2006. Marie Wilkes was a loving wife and mother, serving her family while handling a career. She was born and educated in Nashville.

As a young woman, during the Korean conflict, her adventurous spirit called her to travel and she served several years as a civilian employee for the United States Army in Japan. In 1955, she moved from Nashville to Alameda, CA with her mother and sister. While working as a secretary at the Port of Oakland, she met her husband, Richard Wilkes, an engineer with the Port. Marie passed peacefully on May 10, 2006 after a short illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Wilkes; parents, Frank and Lillian Freeman Apple; and brother, Dr.

Ernest Apple. She is survived by her sons, Wendell Wilkes of Arroyo Grande, CA and Harold Wilkes of San Leandro; by her sister, Christine Apple, also of San Leandro and by step daughters, Beverlee Penner and Jeanne Baldwin of Red Bluff. Funeral services were held at Grissom's Chapel in San Lorenzo. Marie was laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery in Oakland. She was a member of Orlinda Baptist Church where she was a member of the Volunteer Sunday School Class and the WMU group, and a member of the Byrum-Porter Senior Citizens Group in Orlinda. Besides her parents, Mrs. Bernard was also preceded in death by her husband, Dorris Moore Bernard. Stew art, the law firm of Stewart Black was founded with its offices in Madison where it has remained to the present. Mr. Black's professional accolades included: Board Member and Officer of the Nashville Bar Association; Presi dent of the Barristers Club ofl Nashville; a member of the American Judicature Society; member of the Tennessee and American Bar Associations; Who's Who of American Law, 4th Edition. He was admitted to practice before all of the State Courts of Tennessee, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee and the United States 6th District Court of Appeals. In addition, before attending Vander-bilt law School, Mr.

Black served in the U.S. Army Reserve which included a tour of active duty with the regular army. He also taught English and History and coached football and baseball at Castle Heights Military Academy, Lebanon and Montgomery Bell Academy, Nashville. A special thanksgiving service will be held 5 p.m., Sunday, June 4, 2006 at St. James The Less Church, 411 W.
