Barto ha Echo Will Not Be Printed Next Week One Injured In Bus Accident At Loyalton, Monday One person was injured and other passengers escaped injury, when a bus of the Williams Valley Transportation Company of WiHiamstown, sideswiped two parked cars on Highway Route 209, at Loyalton, shortly before 5 o'clock Monday morning.

OBSERVE WEDDING ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. Claude E. Min-nich were honored at a dinner at their home in Wiconisco on Sunday in observance of their forty-ninth wedding anniversary. Mr.

and Mrs. Minnich have livnrl in Wiftninn sfnpo thmr in marriage, and Mr. Minnich has been postmaster ten years. Mr. and Mrs.

Minnich have four daughters, Mrs. Lola Rhodes, Mrs. Sara MacFarland and Mrs. Millie Miller of Harrisburg and Miss Betty Minnich, of Wiconisco; a son, Robert E. Minnich, of Cohoes, New York, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandson.

RECEIVES DISCHARGE FROM ARMY Staff Sergeant Herman S. Herb recently returned bo his home, Millersburg R. after receiving an honorable discharge from the army at Fort Dix, New Jersey. Sergeant Herb, was wounded while serving with the army in Europe. Two brothers in the service are Staff sergeant tester Herb, with the army in Europe, and Pfc.

Junior Herb, who was wounded overseas and is now stationed at Camp Butner, North Carolina. NOVINGER STONEROAD Miss Betty Stoneroad was wed to Mr. Jacob Novinger, in the parsonaige of David's Reformed Church at Killinger, June 16th, by the pastor, Rev. Elden E. Ehr-hart.

The couple was attended by Miss Ruth Stoneroad, sister of the bride, and Albert Novinger, brother of the bridegroom. The bride is the daughter Mr. and Mrs. George Stoneroad, of Millersburg R. and Mr.

Novinger is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter E. Novinger, also of Millersburg R. D.

LIBERATED AIRMAN ON FURLOUGH Staff Sergeant and Mrs. Robert L. Miller are visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel H.

Miller, Wiconisco. Sgt. Miller, who was taken a prisoner of war of Germany Club Officers Mon. Members of the Elizabethville Rotary Club were entertained at the cottage of F. P.

Margerum in Small Valley, Monday evening. Newly-elected officers of the Club were installed at the busi ness session and a report of the District Meeting of Rotary International was presented. Guests of the club were: Pvt. Ralph L. Lehman of the Marine Corps; C.

T. Romberger, Warren F. Swab, and Alvin F. Kinter, of Runnemede, New Jersey. The program for next week's meeting will be in charge of Mi Harold L.

Romberger. ASSIGNED TO COLLECT TAXES The Dauphin County Commissioners have named County, Treasurer Elmer E. Erb to collect "'7. rp iton, WiHiamstown and Halifax Township. The districts have no tax collectors at present.

GETS COMBAT INFANTRY-MAN'S BADGE Pfc. Robert H. Kitner, of Millersburg, has been awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge for participation in combat against the enemy in Italy. MOVED TO HALIFAX Mr. and Mrs.

Samuel Hoster-man, recently moved from Hern-don to Halifax, where Mr. Hos-terman is agent for the Pennsylvania Railroad Company. Mr. Hosterman had been agent for the railroad at the Herndon and Dalmatia stations a number of years. ANNOUNCE MARRIAGE Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Kathleen Miller, of Bellefonte, to Charles G.

L. Reed, of Millersburg. SOLDIER GETS BRONZE STAR AWARD Mr. and Mrs. David Herb of Lykens were recently advised that their son, Pfc.

Robert L. Herb was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for heroic achievement in connection with military operations against the enemy from March 12 to April 15, 1945, in Germany. Pfc. Herb entered the service in September, 1944. AIRMAN ON FURLOUGH Lieutenant John Betz of the Army Air Forces, is spending a furlough with his mother, Mrs.

Josephine Betz, Lykens. Lieutenant Betz, a navigator war camp in April. He had been captured when his plane was forced down over Yugoslavia last November. WED AT HALIFAX William D. Shomper and Miss Jean M.

Corsnitz, of Halifax, were married in the parsonage of the Halifax Reformed Church, Monday evening at 8:30 o'clock by the pastor, Rev. G. W. Moyer. The ring ceremony of the church was used.

Mrs. Shomper is the daughter of Mrs. Alda Corsnitz, of Halifax; and the bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Myrtle Shomper, of Lykens. The bridegroom recently returned to the United States after serving with the army overseas two years.

He is at present sta- tioned in North Carolina, AIRMAN REPORTED MISSING Mrs. Alberta Kreiner, of Wiconisco, has been advised by the War Department that her son, Sergeant Charles Kreiner, 20, has been reported missing in action in the Pacific since May 19th. Sgt. Kreiner has been in the Army Air Forces nearly two years. WED AT HAGERSTOWN Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Margaret Ibberson, of Lykens, to Pfc.

William H. Alleman, of Millersburg. The ceremony took place in the of the Evangelical Church at Hagerstown, Maryland, June 6th. Mrs. Alleman is the daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Roy Ibberson of Lykens, and Pfc. Alleman is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William H.

Alleman of Millersburg. He returned to the United States recently after having been wounded while serving with the army Pfc. Melvin L. Bowers of the Army Air Forces, and Miss Ruth E. Shifter, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Cloyd E. Sniffer of Millers- burg R. were married in Zion Lutheran Church, Rife, at 6 o'clock Saturday evening by the Rev. W.

Z. Artz, pastor. The double ring ceremony was used. During a recital prior to the ceremony, Mr. Howard B.

Bowman, of Millersburg, played "A Memory of "My Heart At Thy Sweet "I Love You and "0 Promise Mr. Bowman also played the wedding music. The bride was given in mar riage by her father. She wore a white satin and marquisette gown and carried a bouquet of white asters. Mrs.

Irvin Shiffer was matron of honor. She wore a yellow net gown and carried a bouquet of purple asters. The bridesmaids, Edna Mae and Gladys Shiffer wore pink and blue marquisette gowns and carried pink and lav' ender asters. Martha Marie Long, of Gratz, the flower girl, wore a white taffeta gown, and blue gowns were worn by the train-bearers, Dolores and Joanne Crouthermel. Mr.

Irvin Shiffer served as best man, and Robert and Cloyd Shiffer were the ushers. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Bowers of Millersburg R. D.

Following the ceremony, a re ception was held at the home of the bride's parents. WED IN STONE VALLEY CHURCH Pfc. Lee P. Klinger, of the army and Miss Marjorie Lehman, were married in the Stone Valley Lutheran and Reformed Church, Hickory Corners, at 4 o'clock, Saturday afternoon. Rev.

E. A. Dech, pastor of the Pillow Reformed Charge, officiated. Miss Thehna Lehman, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and Mr. Daniel Dreibelbis of Hickory Corners, served as best man.

The is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lehman, of Hickory Corners, and the bridegroom is a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Penrose Klinger, Dalmatia R.

D. The ceremony took place in the parsonage of the Reformed Church, Selinsgrove, June 20th, and was performed by the Rev. O. W. Nace.

COMPLETING OFFICIAL VOTE TABULATION Compiling of results of the Dauphin County vote in the June 19th Primary Election, by the official return board, was nearing completion yesterday. It was stated that at the close of work yesterday the vote of ten township and borough districts remained to be computed before the Board could start tabulation of the vote cast. CHAPLAIN RETURNS FROM OVERSEAS Lieut.

Colonel Paul W. Baer, who served as an Army Chaplain overseas nearly three years, has returned to the United States and is visiting his family in Philadelphia. Lieut. Colonel Baer was for merly pastor of the Methodist Church, WiHiamstown. WED AT LYKENS Miss Marie Paul, daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. John Paul, and Al-ben Pierce, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alben Pierce, of Dauphin, were married in the United Brethren Church, Lykens, June 16th, by the pastor, Rev. Samuel Stoner.

Lykens LYKENS SAILOR WOUNDED Relatives have received word that Slc Ray Blyler was slightly wounded on May 9th, while serv ing with the Navy in the Pacific area. Seaman Blyler, who entered the service in May 1944, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry E. BOMBER GETS NAME OF HERSHEY" 'CITY Hershey, Pa. Word has come from the commander of a bombardment group of B-29's based in the Pacific, that a Superfortress has been named for the community of Hershey, called "City of Hershey." The name was chosen by vote of members of the plane's crew. Missouri has an area of 69,674 square miles. Pvt. James E.

Gunderman, who returned to the United States some time ago after a tour of duty in the European war theater, where he was wounded, is at present stationed at tho Army Ground and Service For ces Redistribution Station, Atlantic City, New Jersey. He is the son of Mrs. Catherine Gunderman of Mayfield Street, town. Local Soldior Gets Army Discharge Pfc. Clarence C.

Zimmerman, of Elizabethville, was one of a group of soldiers who received honorable discharges from the army at the Personnel Center, Indiantown Gap Military Reservation, yesterday. Pfc. Zimmerman, who is the son of Oscar O. Zimmerman, of town, entered the army in April 1942. He recently returned to this country after having served with the army overseas in England, the Mediterranean area and western Europe.

Pvt. Charles E. Gleigsner has returned to his home here after having received an honorable discharge from the army at Camp Upton, New York. He had entered the army in February, 1941, and was stationed in the Pacific area two years. T4 Ernest Dietrich of the army, has been transferred from North Fort Lewis, Washington, to Gowen Field, Boise, Idaho.

Pfc. Nevin Lahr who was liberated from a German prisoner of war camp, is spending a fur lough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lahr, Elizabethville R. D.

Pfc. Lahr wai taken prisoner while serving with the army in France, January 1. 1945. Three Elizabethville sailors met some time ago, somewhere in the Pacific area. The men are Milford Schlegel, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Archie Schlegel; Eugene St. Sing, son of Mrs. Verna St. Sing, and Russell Miller, son of Mr.

and Mrs. Charles R. Millei. HAlc Floyd Buffington, and friend, Ph.M3c Walter Donker-son, stationed with the Navy at Brooklyn, N. spent the week end at the former's home here.

Pvt. Walter Shutt, stationed with the army at Fort Knox, Kentucky, visited his family at Hegins, and his father, John Shutt, town, during the week end. Pvt. Ralph Lehman who re- cently completed his basic train- ing with the Marine Corps at Parris Island, South Carolina, is spending a leave with his family, North Market Street. Upon his return to duty, he will be stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Harold Temple of the Navy, visited his grandparents, George Temple and Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Wenrich, on Saturday.

William Botts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Botts, of Washington Township, has been advanced to the rank of Staff Sergeant. He is serving with the army in Europe. His brother, Sergeant Charles Botts is serving with the Marine Corps in the Pacific area.

LeMar Daniel, of the Navy, who recently completed his basic training at Bainbridge, Maryland, is spending a leave with his family here. CLOSE PART OF LAKE WALLENPAUPACK Because of the War Emergency, that portion of Lake Wal-lenpaupack which extends for a distance approximately 750 feet from the breast of the dam, and which was closed to the public for the past several years, will again be closed this year. No boating, fishing, swimming, or any other form of recreation will be permitted in this restricted area, which has again been marked by red flags mounted on buoys installed across the lake at approximately the above distance from the breast of the dam. Glommen, the principal river of Norway, is 400 miles long. Canada has an area of square miles.

S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. H.

Fauber, last last Thursday. Miss Eima Gaupp, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, is spending a vacation with her sister, Miss Alice Gaupp. Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Barrows of New York City spent the week end at the home of Miss Gaupp.

W.

RUBENDALL Charles W. Rubendall, age 59 years, of Millersburg, died in a Harrisburg hospital, Saturday, following a heart attack. He was an unemployment compensation referee in the State Department of Labor and Industry. Mr. Rubendall was a member of the Grace Evangelical Church, Millersburg, and of the P.

O. of A. lodge, and had served as Scoutmaster of the Millersburg Boy Scout Troop over twenty-five years. Mr. Rubendall had been engaged in the insurance business a number of years.

He was a for mer postmaster of Millersburg, and served as president of the Millersburg School Board twelve years. Survivors are his wife, Mr Lottie Rubendall, three sons, Robert Rubendall and Charles W. Rubendall of the Navy, and Dr. Howard Rubendall, headmaster of the Mt. Herman, Massachusetts, School for Boys; one daughter, Mrs.

Richard Barnhart, of Lancaster, and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Minier Funeral Home, Millersburg, at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Rev. S. A.

Sitler, pastor of the Millersburg Evangelical Church, officiated, and interment was made in Oak Hill Cemetery at that place. RALPH A. HENNINGER Ralph A. Henninger, age 62 years, of Harrisburg, died in a hospital, that city, on Tuesday, following an illness of several weeks. He was a former resident of Millersburg.

Mr. Henninger was a son of the late Jacob A. and Annie I. (Romberger) Henninger, and was a native of Mifflin Township. He was graduated from Albright College in 1905, and taught school at Lebanon and Al-lentown, and later served for nine years as principal of the Ta-maqua High School.

He had been a representative of the New York Life Insurance Company, associated with the Harrisburg office a number of years. He was a member of the Odd Fellows lodge of Lebanon, and Trinity Methodist Church, Harrisburg. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Hilda Henninger; a brother, Walter B. Henninger, supervising principal of the Northumberland schools; and a foster daughter, Mrs.

Nancy Bashore, Canal Zone, Panama. Private services will be held from the Dugan Funeral Home, Harrisburg at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon. Rev. Dr. L.

M. Williams, and Bishop A. W. Cooper, of Reading, will officiate, and in- torment will be in the East Hiu- risbuig Cemetery. CONTINUE 3-CENT POSTAGE Congress this week decided to continue the three-cent rate for first class mail for two years.

Dorothy Ebling, and a son, Clarence Yohe, both of Reading, eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Reiff and Helt Funeral Home, Lykens, Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Samuel H. MRS. JENNIE A. KLINGER Mrs. Jennie A. Klinger, age 61 years, wife of Charles E.

Klinger, died at her home in Herndon Friday evening. Mrs. Klinger was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William H.

High, of Dalmatia, and had been a resi-1 dent of Herndon forty years. Mrs. Klinger was a member of I ii.0 I and the Eastern Star Order of Sunbury. She was also a former member of the Herndon Board of Education. Survivors are her husband, two daughters, Mrs.

William H. Tingley, of Philadelphia and Mrs. Roy Phillips, of Berwyn, two step-children, a sister, and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the residence Tuesday afternoon, with further services in the Lutheran and Reformed Church, Herndon. Rev.
