THE EVENING STANDARD State S.S. Convention Plans Made HARR1SBURG The theme of the 102nd annual Pennsylvania State Sunday School Convention to he held Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Oct. 22-24, at the King Street United Brethren Church, Chambersburg, will be "Called to Minister" according to the announcement of Dr. Raymond G. Mowrey, Chambersburg, chairman of the program committee.

ChaiVman the local planning committee is Merle B. Hafer, Chambersburg and president of the Franklin County Sunday School Association. Dr. Mowrey announces the following committees who have been actively planning for the 102nd annual meeting: Theme, Text and Call Committees: Rev. Robert Reasey.

This' 102nd Annual Pennsylvania Sunday School Convention is being sponsored by the Pennsylvania State Sabbath School Association in cooperation with the Franklin County Sunday School Association, the Minis- teriums and the Chambersburg Council of Churches. The program of the convention is designed to provide help to the more than 1,000 delegates from throughout Pennsyl- UNIONTOWN, MONDAY, JULY 20, 1964-PAGE vania who be attending, representing the teachers, children workers, ministers, advisors, officers, youth leaders, superintendents and parents of the many Church Schools in Pennsylvania. Rapid Expansion At Vacation Area MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (AP) The first resort, facility erected here was a one-room shack built in 1901 and rented to mainland residents who wanted to spend a vacation on the beach. The first hotel with a swimming pool was built in 1914. Now the city has 370 hotels and more than 800 swimming pools. ENLIST IN AIR FORCE Five 1964 graduates of district high schools have enlisted in the Air Force through the Uniontnwn Recruiting Office and are undergoing basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas.

Ruth Waser, 31 Maple Lucy Tomasek, Haddenville, and Libby Sampey, 55 Snyder Terrace, attended a recent performance of the Nat King Cole Revue at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh.
