"Del" as he was familiarly knorvn among his many friends in and out of the automotive fraternity, died in his office of a heart attack at the age of 63.

Royal Tire Shop is in the former Town and Country Motors building in Lafayette. Miilu and Macpherson have been in business together since November 1, 1944, when they leased their first service station in Oakland. They moved to the Contra Costa area in 1949. Their business has since increased to the point where they now operate several service stations in addition to the new tire shop, which is equipped to handle the needs of the fast-growing Contra Costa area, The LeBlanc-Bardahl Streamliner, 325 miles-per-hour streamlined car designed to make an assault upon the Class hotrod records, and Class A American records on the Bonneville salt flats, is being shown to the public all this week at the Firestone store at 47th Street and San Pablo Avenue. Reid Railton, internationally known automotive engineer, is responsible for the body design.

Railton, who now resides in Berkeley, is the designer and builder of the famous Cobb-Railton-Mobile Special which established the present world record of 394 miles per hour at Bonneville a few years ago. Le-Blanc's streamliner closely follows the original Railton design and is expected to shatter all existing American records. The Fiberglas body was built by Industrial Plastics, 4425 Linden Street, Oakland, with its specially formulated Astrolite R-280 resin, and a new high tensil strength glass fabric known as Formfab, manufactured by Hess Goldsmith Company, Wilkes Barre, Pa. This Fiberglas body is 24 feet 6 inches long. 6 feet 6 inches wide and 3 feet high and is the largest ever constructed from this material.

The wheelbase is 144 inches. Le-Blanc designed and built the chassis with chrome moly tubing and the car is powered with two Chrysler V-8 engines with specially ground Howard cams and tuned to produce 475 horsepower each. Engines are mounted separately, front and rear, each driving a swing axle. This four-wheel! drive speedster weighs 3200 pounds.
